Does Maxing Roar do Anything?

So, I've been looking at pet skills and wondering which ones I should get and max, you know? I've decided on the skills and know that Roar is basically a must since it pulls aggro and I keep pulling aggro from my pets so they need an aggro skill now. b:chuckle But the thing is that I was on Ecatomb (http://www.ecatomb.net/home.php ) and looking at the skills and what they'd be like at maximum levels and when I got to Roar it gave me info like this:

Roar Level 1: Pet level 1 / Spirit: 4.000 / Cooldown: 15 seconds / Roar to attract enemy's attacks.

Roar Level 2: Pet level 20 / Spirit: 8.000 / Cooldown: 15 seconds / Roar to attract enemy's attacks.

Roar Level 3: Pet level 40 / Spirit: 12.000 / Cooldown: 15 seconds / Roar to attract enemy's attacks

Roar Level 4: Pet level 60 / Spirit: 16.000 / Cooldown: 15 seconds / Roar to attract enemy's attacks.

Roar Level 5: Pet level 80 / Spirit: 20.000 / Cooldown: 15 seconds / Roar to attract enemy's attacks.

The page with the info: http://www.ecatomb.net/petskill.php

Does it even change if you keep leveling it or is it just a waste of spirit to level it?

The amount of aggro your pet gets on roar increases. However, it also resets aggro; for keeping aggro, bash (or bash + another skill, an elemental bash) is better.

it's is a nice skill if you lose aggro. you can get it back fast. you get aggro for sure. if you do bash with a barb, you wont get aggro. with roar you will. thats the nice thing about it. so its nice to have bash and roar both. I saved lives with roar.
    its good to lvl it.

    good luck with it b:bye

I see where you're coming from: If all Roar does is reset Aggro, why another rank? Reset is reset, right? So, what's the difference here?
TBH, I don't know. My Roar always pulled Aggro from even Barbs, and it's at 1.
If this skill does indeed have more of an effect at higher ranks, then there's more to it. Maybe it forces the target to attack the pet, and higher ranks cause longer duration of the effect?

This game is so poorly documented, some questions will never be answered. :/

Roar is good for building up aggro; I would suggest starting off with roar, then a bash/elemental bash.

Alright thanks. I'll level Roar if I start having problems with Roar keeping aggro for a long time then. Thanks for your help b:cute

Roar resets aggro and gives a certain amount of hate to the pet. The amount of hate given is determined by roar level. Using roar in the middle of the fight to keep aggro is a bad idea, it's better to use it to take aggro back from a squishy.

Roar takes aggro from barbs because it resets all the hate the barb built up fleshreaming. Next flesh ream he does, he most likely will take aggro back, especially from a level 1 roar. (Same holds true for barb roar, as well, except their roar is AOE and pet roar is single target.)
