Decomposition

Alright, so, I'm trying to make my TT80 gear, and I'm having a bit of trouble decomposing my old TT70 light bracers to get the souledge in them required for the new armor. I took them to the tailor, with level 5 tailoring, tried to decompose them, and I'm not even given the option. They are not bound, and I've had several friends try and decompose them for me with the same result.

Is this just a glitch with the item, or am I doing something wrong here?

    Try to repair it first, if it's not repaired, you won't be able to decompose it. b:surrender
