You're hit when the mob already died?!

Please, please, PLEASE fix that! we've all had our fair share of frustration because of it, right? I mean, we attack a mob and it's hp goes to zero and then out of nowhere, BAM! It hits you again?!? I have died because of that before. (usually on alts since I'm a veno)

Unless I'm the only one that gets this problem, then I think it's a pretty bad thing. If I AM the only one who has this happen to me, then I think I'm cursed b:chuckle

And I'm very sorry if a thread like this already exists or if it's already been explained about why this happens. Unless it's been established that it really can't be fixed, please try to find a solution.

b:bye

I think it is meant to be so.
When you cast a spell, there are channelling time and cast time. Channelling time is the window where spell can be interrupted, while casting time is when nothing can stop the spell anymore, even with the death of the caster. When you do a normal attack, it work as if it is a spell with 0 channelling time. So if you kill a mob when it already began the normal attack or finished channelling you will get hit.
This can make sense. Casting time can be considered to be a period in which the projectile fly toward the target, or the sword swing due to its momentum, that is why it is not interrupted by the death of the caster.
So if someone kill you you can manage to deliver a final attack to the attacker.
The same thing apply to mobs too, so the mobs can get one last hit on you.

By the way, I was speaking only about mobs because I don't pk and don't know if it happens when killing people too.

But no, it doesn't seem like that. The mobs deals a hit, like, one second after your spell/attack hits the mob. And it doesn't happed only on my veno, I notice it A LOT on my bm. One second may seem like a little, but sometimes the mob is already "falling down" when you receive the hit. Oh, one last detail, the hit usually doesn't have graphics, you usually just lose HP. You don't actually SEE it hit you but your HP just goes...

its 100% a lag problem, consider that i ALWAYS die 1 second after using absolute domain (3-4secs of invulnerability)

of course because of lag i should be died before it, but the funny thing is that when it happens, it really use my genie stamina to cast the absolute domain, but i take the damage before the abs. dom. buff really appear xD
If you happy wanna be, against the wind you won't have to pee.

It is not lag problem. It is the mechanic that once the spell is casting (not channelling) or when the normal attack had started, even the death of the caster will not cancel the attack. I figured that out when both me and the mobs kill each other at the same time: one of us must land the attack first and kill the other, but it will not stop the final attack.

Well, in the end, be it a lag problem or a mechanism in the game,, is it fixable?

Why should it be? The current mechanics make sense.

Lag is never fixable from the game's point of view. You can do all sorts of things to decrease the lag from your end, but it'll never totally "fix" the "problem."

There's no bug in the game code responsible for this. What you're seeing on your screen (in this case, the mob dying) is just a step ahead of what the server is actually processing. It's nobody's fault and there's really nothing to "fix" here. Just file it under "facts of life." :P

Eventually you'll come to expect it - it'll be as natural a part of the gameplay mechanics as anything else. XD

Yes, I'm still a stubborn holdout in favor of the old game. Haters gonna hate. ;]
