What happens to deleted characters?

Hey, what happens to characters after the 1 week meditation is up? What makes these characters impossible to retrieve after the 1 week?

    They're... deleted? I would assume that means they're completely wiped from the server.

    That's always a possibility. I just find it a little ludicrous though because all the past MMOs I've played allowed the retrieval of a character after its deleted, albeit with no items and such, so I'm just curious why PW doesn't function in this manner.

    Ahh, I see xP
    Well I can kind of see why, though I guess the same could be applied to other games: it's just a waste of space. People have plenty of slots per account, and can always make another account for more chars. There's no real reason for them to delete one of their characters unless they don't have any intention of ever playing it again. I could be completely wrong though, but I don't see the point in keeping a deleted character's data around.

    I know of one that says what Dyskrasia - Heavens Tear has said as they can't be retrieved.

    Deleted characters are gone for good. That's why you get a week to change your mind.

    quick question on that though: why are these characters still listed in support? (mine has all the characters I ever made, including the ones I deleted

    Quick answer, we don't know yet.

    The MCP puts the deleted characters through game trials, where they fight to keep their pixelated existence...

    Sometimes the server doesn't clean up deleted characters properly, though. :P

    I once made a cleric who went by the name of my current veno. I quickly realized I wanted that name for my veno instead, so I deleted that cleric and created an identical one with a different name. When the first cleric finished deleting, the veno was created with the cleric's old name. Result: there were two characters with my veno's name on my "avatar choices" list for a long time, as well as other things which listed my characters (such as the ticketing system).

    When I go into my avatar selection, my veno and my barb still can't get portraits for some reason. XD

    Yes, I'm still a stubborn holdout in favor of the old game. Haters gonna hate. ;]

    New issue has risen - When I deleted the Energize character, I sent mail to my other chars, which I deleted all also. To my surprise, I remake these same characters (name and all) and I have mail from Energize (my old char). Could you explain this phenomena, please?
