Anybody have any suggestions as to PvP without charms. Without MP charms, plumeshell suddenly becomes a dangerous skill that can completely disable me. Just today I attacked by some archer while grinding. I managed to break stun, fly away, pull guardian light and an IH then I starting attacking. As soon as my GL ran out I put up plumeshell then proceded to attack again( archer charm had ticked). However, my plumeshell was simply shot through and I was left without mana, leaving me dead.

Any suggestions as to how to pvp without charms or heavy use of orbs?

I've considered tree protection+wings of protection(79) as an alternative to plumeshell. But its alittle pricey upfront.

I've also considered the idea of "spark blocking" with single sparks to block some of the heavier skill shots.

any thoughts of suggestions?
and bro...fyi this isn't a story.

You want to use your apothecary as much as possible get lots of powders and orbs. The charms might help to not the CS ones.

The MP powders from the packs are pretty cheap (3 tokens makes 50 5000 MP potions), and could probably get you through plume shell if you hotkey them so you can press them quickly.

Also, I found that spam healing yourself will let you survive most damage except one-shots, after which you can burst someone. I'm not very good at sparking to resist myself, but it's worth trying and practicing.

At this point in the game though, PvP is mostly how much money someone's spent on their character. Sure, skill plays a factor, but it's effects tend to be more subtle than those due to money.

Event pots, I havent equiped a spirit charm for pvp since 7x. It pretty much only backfires when Im ganked/ or fighting a highly cash-shopped archer.

As for pvping without HP charms.. Good luck.. I cant do it with people that are charmed my level..

Plume shell is practically useless on PvP unless charmed. As you found out, can leave you without chances of attacking. Thats why plume shell is used mostly when retreating and not in combat.

Orbs can help, but the problem is they recover mp over 30 secs, so you need to be quick and skilled to buy you enough time to recover mp.

I think Chromatic (sleep) and Silent (stun) seals are more important than plume shell since they can help you to counter attack more effctively.

Most of the times I do

    if harmed :
Cromatic seal -> IHx2/x3 (depends on damage) -> Dimensional/Elemental seal debuff (depending on enemy) -> Silent seal -> spark (optional) -> kick his butt with kittin' if necessary.

    if unharmed:
Cromatic seal -> Tempest -> Silent seal -> Dimensional/Elemental seal debuff (depending on enemy) -> kick his butt with kittin' if necessary.

Works pretty good with mages, psys, barbs, BM and archers. Assasins are more complicated cause their invisible and stun tackle skills.
Sliding we go, only fear on our side. To the edge of the wire and we rush with the tide.
Although I'm still alive, pray to God I survive

Chromatic seal is dangerous to overuse. It gives you one potential shot and it has a really long cooldown. Silent seal is kinda irrelevant against archers since people can still attack you with it. Kiting works against melles only really.

Just to clarify I did use an event pot. But I added it after MP started getting batted. Maybe I should add it before hand.

I know Chromatic is cancelled when he is hit. That's why I use it to buy me time to heal or cast tempest.

I always tend to forget Silent paralyze and not stun. I guess I've been lucky so far then b:victory

my opinion dont try to pvp without charms. plume shell is your fav skill when fighting a bm or barb and if you dont have a charm you will find that your mana pool goes fast. i mean it is possible to pk without one but its easier just to cash up whatever charms are seling for in catshops and go on your marry way
