Demon Or Sage?

Maragon, you don't always need to spam flesh ream to keep arggo, thats not the only tool to take and maintain arggo. I done TT 1-1 again, done it nicely. I just have to manage MP usage for bosses. I opened with devour, and then used flesh ream, after about 10 flesh reams (I used it after bleed effect weres off) I kept arggo from even a LVL64 archer that spammed her skills. I spammed devour which is more reliable to spam than flesh ream. Even though flesh ream is the best for taking arggo. But devour is more reliable because you will take less damage and at same time you and other physical classes kill them faster. I learned this when I was tanking.
3 Seconds cooldown is enough already. 2.5 is not really necessary which makes sage flesh ream better than demon flesh ream. Demon garrote however, is better than sage garrote, but a lot of barbs don't like garrote.[SIGPIC][/SIGPIC]

Poor Yulk, I know you desperately want to help but...speak with experience before you make assumptive suggestions.
Nobody gives a flying flip about garrote, sage or demon, its the least useful barb skill after mid game ever. If you wanted to compare one that was better, then i would probably lean sage, due to more damage for your mana. (try not to get too excited sages)
At your barbs level, Yulk, the skill level of flesh ream should be recently maxed, making aggro retention a breeze. But consider that you have a long way to go before you get level 11 flesh ream, and during that time the skill gets no better while your fellow squad mates DD gets higher and higher. You will begin to have to use it a lot more often.
As a demon barb with demon flesh ream, my two tactics for aggro vary depending on my squad mates. If they are around my level with typical gear, I can flesh ream, build chi, 3 spark, devour, auto attack till spark wears out, then flesh ream at the end and start all over again. If I tank for higher level players and/or crazy gear players I thank pan-gu for my quick reaming ability because aggro retention becomes a bish.
Devour is nice to use between reams, but its no replacement and doesn't help a lot if any when keeping aggro from archers or fist bm's. Think about it.
Now go play and level your barb Yulk, and as sure as you will continue to give theoretical advice about late game barbs you will eventually be able to speak from experience.
*edit* You also speak of retaining aggro easily in TT, where skill based aggro is king due to damage mitigation on the bosses. (watch out for them there Hercs though)0 -
The main question I would have before going Sage or Demon is asking whether the majority of squads would have a preference. If I go Demon, are there any bosses (besides insane world bosses like Harpy Wraith) that potential squad mates would demand a Sage barb, or are Demons actually better tankers at high levels? I'm thinking mainly of Rebirths and higher level TTs and the like, and whether a Demon barb would be reduced to dealing damage through them.0

IDK, only arggo I usually lose from is other barbs using flesh ream no matter what I do b:surrender. Sometimes pets that use arggo skills to. and I am leveling this BM atm (lazy) and I would love to experience them other skills especially when they all at LVL11.[SIGPIC][/SIGPIC]

Demon or Sage?
http://ecatomb.net/skillpwi.php It's a personal choice, look up the skill benefits for each and make up your own mind.
Or, do a search on the forums for numerous troll-fests and high horsery.0 -

if you want to manage mp you wouldnt use devour so much. at lvl 55 you can have lvl 10 FR and level 6 devour. Devour lvl 6 uses 50% more mana and 75% more chi (which barbs must have to keep aggro)
Besides I do fine with mana I wear a natures breath necklace giving me an extra 7 mana regen per sec (yes i know its 2 extra in combat mode) and level 30 mp pots are more than enough to fill in gaps.
Why do you say you spammed devour and then say FR is better for tanking? it doesnt matter if you are able to take less damage if an archer or wiz steals aggro.
I can see why you dont level your barb. It really must be frustrating playing as you describe.b:shutupYulk - Heavens Tear wrote: »IDK, only arggo I usually lose from is other barbs using flesh ream no matter what I do b:surrender. If the only aggro you ever lose from is barbs using FR, maybe that should tell you something about how to keep aggro.[SIGPIC][/SIGPIC]0 -

Frustrating? Not at all b:cute . Its just that I am waiting on friends to be ready soon enough for RB. I have no issues with mana or chi. I always keep my chi at 70 or above before tanking. I don't use arggo skills alone you know... Surf impact, and frighten, sure they not arggo skills but I get chi back... and I use lots of flourish orbs b:laugh For anything... without those would make me lose arggo[SIGPIC][/SIGPIC]

Honestly, I don't think it matters. Squads could have a preference, but really, a Barb is a Barb.[SIGPIC][/SIGPIC]
