Genie sharing between chars?

Hehe, i've got a brilliant idea (maybe) but I don't know if this will work or not...

I have a level 44 genie on one char and also I have an account stash. I can put the genie in the account stash, so I could share it between characters.

The question is, what will happen to my genie if I equip it on a level 32 char? As far as I know, genies cannot level up higher as the char itself. Will the genie be reset to level 32 once equipped? I don't dare trying it, but maybe someone has already?

    Pretty sure you can't equip a genie that's too high level for you.

    Oh, I forgot that one can also buy genies...

    Yes you're right, I wouldn't be able to equip it.
