Everyone on these forums are damage lovers so they're gonna tell you you have too much Vit. They're gonna be like, "omg more than 1 vit FAILLLLLL!!!!!!"

I'm personally going Pole Tank as well, and love it so far (but much lower level than you) so I'm glad to see you're satisfied with your BM cuz I'm gonna be where you are in a week or so. :O
Red Truth. A conditional truth - Pole BMs are epic... as tanks.
Blue Truth. A possible truth - Full Vit Pole BMs are epic at AoE.
Golden Truth. The absolute truth - My Pole BM is the most epic on Lost City.
He who masters truth, masters the world. Maybe. Showering daily helps too.

Cap your VIT at 80, and you are pretty much set. At 80 you can use 70 axes, 70 swords 80 poles and 60 fists. I have 80 VIT now, and I'm not regretting it.

Termintor seems to think like me. We both go heavy on the Vit. I use the absolute minimum on STR and DEX to wield my axes, and throw the rest on VIT. I seem to do a teeny bit less damage than others my level, but I also seem to be more robust and live longer. Axes are really good at AOE on a bunch of mobs. I enjoy grabbing 5, 6, 8 mobs at once and then killing them, so I have to be able to survive being hit by them. Back when Mohammed Ali was the heavywieght champion, he did mention that to be the champ, you had to be able to survive getting hit hard--especially in the head. He said anyone can punch hard.

It is your choice. Go VIT heavy to be able to wade in and brawl with the mobs, or go light on vit to do more damage, but spend much more time dancing and running. I would guess that if you intend to do a lot of solo grinding, go VIT heavy, the VIT light guys need a healer around.

It's not so much that vit is useless. While the missing hp from lack of vit can be covered by shards and refines, str and dex cannot. You can only gain so much str/dex from equipment bonuses, so many choose to dump more points into str/dex rather than vit. This is, however mindset of those who can afford end game gear--with high refines and high grade Citrine shards or even those vit+10 stones. With the latter it's possible to have base vit of 3 and still have more than 240 vit endgame, while doing crazy damage.

Otherwise, survival goes both ways. You can do loads of damage and give mobs less opportunities to damage you--or you can be tougher against hits but take more. Personally I prefer former and never had a problem with it either. It really depends on your playstyle and how much refines and high grade shards you can afford. Add that all into equation and decide for yourself.

But to be honest, if you are thinking about PvP, you want to be able to deal damage, especially if you are facing arcanes with +10k hp.

Nothing wrong with high vit at all imo. PvE is easy and the build will get you through it without any problems. You won't deal as much damage or do awesome in PvP, but a squishy bm with 5k-6k hp isn't going to do that much better and will die a lot more in PvE.

Multipathing and using expensive -int gear with high hp refines IS beyond a doubt the best build, but way out of price range for most players. If at some point you find you can actually afford to multipath effectively but you've gone high vit, it's not really an issue. (If you can afford 1000+ gold for endgame gear, 15 gold on a reset note and statting vit-to-dex won't exactly break the bank)

Not at all, I use axes as my main weapon for my bm. But I do put in enough dex for fists, he's a multi-path bm.
