Official Announcements vs. Events

Should we believe the Events being sticky posted in the General Discussion thread since there's no mention of them (or anything else, as of March 5th, 2010 9:40am PST) in the Official Announcements thread?


How about like last Tuesday night when at 8:30pm PST, in System Messages in PWI, we got the 30 minute warning about server shutdown - which eventually occurred two and a half hours later around 11pm PST. Frankly, I'm glad it took until 11pm for the servers to go down. I have 5 sets of Crazy Stones to run that I can't start until 9pm PST which take me about an hour.

Just wondering why they bother having an Official Announcements thread they don't seem to use.

    give Frankie a litle more time to get settled into everything the job includes... if you think about it, its actually a lot of work to be done by one person.

    as far as the false shutdown announcements, im sure those and much of the other GM 'red-chat spam' are most likely presets, so most likely just the press of a wrong key. maybe one GM 'punking' another one by switching the labels on the preset redchat keys.

    and i dont think ive ever really seen anything in the 'official announcement' section of the forums. just watch the stickyied threads in gen. discussion. they're most usually accurate

    uh duh? the thread here SAID maint would be at 11. just because there was a miscommunication last maint means nothing. the information on current and future events can always be found in general, they havent used official announcements at alll.
