Ok, i know it's said that it's a bannable offense to use/exploit F9 (camera mode) to pull qingzi through the door in FB29 to avoid opening the door.

My question now.... is it still a bannable offense if we use TAB to taget qingzi and pull him thus using a feature they actually gave us to target enemies. If so... WHY? pulling is a common/needed tactic used almost everywhere.

I would assume yes - still bannable.

Not because you are pulling, but you are pulling him through what is supposed to be a locked door . . . which is exploiting an in-game glitch.

The glitch wasn't using f9 to do it, the glitch was that you were doing it. Doors are there for a reason.

    use this logic...

they added an invisible mob in HH that 1shots you with an infinite-range aoe if you pull a certain mob thru a certain door (or so i heard)

so yea, pulling thru doors (which are solid objects, but for some reason only to player characters) would be physically impossible, therefore a glitch to use

Honestly, I don't know why people still pull Qingzi through the door when that is like, the easiest (and fastest, imo) instance to do. =| I kick people out of my squad that wants me to do that.

But yeah, like everyone else said, the door is there for a reason. Whether it be using the F9 or using the tab function, you are still using a pet to go through the door while your own actual character can't and pull things that shouldn't be pulled unless the door was opened.

IMHO, game glitches should be bannable. If people shouldn't be pulling through doors, walls, etc, then PW shouldn't allow the game to let it happen. I know that in Secret Passage, I often take hits from things shooting at ME through "solid" walls! If the beasts can shoot at me through walls, then I can shoot at them through walls (or doors) too. Tough luck. Bad programming on some programmer's part does not make me a bad player - it's THEIR fault the game allows it, not mine.
As a retired programmer, if I didn't want a program user doing something, I simply coded the logic so they COULDN'T do it. The doors COULD be made impermeable if PW bothered to. I know that in Guild Wars, if I try to shoot a beast through a tree, the game will tell me my "target was obstructed". PW could code the same attributes to 'solid' objects. Don't bother saying "but that's another game". As a past programmer, I know it's all just 1's and 0's to the machine which doesn't care, but will happily do whatever it's (correctly) told to do.

It bugs me to see sloppy or careless issues within PW's otherwise pretty-darned-cool environment. PW needs to fix some of those sloppy things like the misaligned columns in the Faction display window and the horribly deformed face of Hou Jenhsi (the Crazy Stone NPC) and every other NPC that uses that same model where the texture (artwork) is not correctly overlaid on the mesh (body), making her eye blinks happen above her eyebrows and having her nose painted down to her chin. Yes, I've already submitted tickets on both those issues. Maybe they'll get around to fixing them some Tuesday night.

BTW - I don't know why, but I wouldn't have thought to try shooting through a closed door, though I do use Tab to select targets all the time. Tab for targeting is especially useful underwater where visibility is poor and Bigmouth Piranhas and Giant Piranhas both look alike until you get close enough to see one's greenish and the other is bluish.

What about attacking the chi boss in TT 3-x runs? You're attacking a boss through a solid object (a wall).

What would REALLY make it interesting (and probably tick off everyone who wouldn't take advantage of it), would be if you could attack a beast through a solid object, but they couldn't hit you back or get at you.

What about stacking defensive measures? I use HP pots all the time, to ease the load on my guardian charm (which these same don't-shoot-through-doors people probably don't consider cheating). I also use Bestial Rage as a backup for the charm because, although they both supposedly kick in at 50%, sometimes the charm doesn't cycle fast enough and then Bestial Rage improves regeneration and helps. If I'm still getting mobbed and chewed up with all that going on, I still have Chaos Powder (at my level, it helps) in reserve to kick in another 2000 HP over 30 seconds. Usually, that keeps me alive long enough to whittle down the mobs. Not to mention wearing Legendary armor, sharded and refined.

    Things that offend:
Wrong people getting drops deserved by the people who's FB it was.
People getting booted from squads right at the end, just so the wrong people could GET those drops.
People going into PK mode and then whining about ANYTHING that happens to them in that state.
(If you don't like what happens in PK mode, fly up to 75 meters in no-wheres-ville at the edge of the world and wait out the PK timer. Then quit going into PK mode. PK mode is not for crybabies.)
People who invite total strangers to their factions. As if I'd want to be in a faction that invites total strangers!
Drama- any drama (besides the normal stress of being a low level player lost from your squad in a dungeon.) This is a GAME people (yah, I know some of you are screaming 'Sacrilege'). If you want to meet your soul mate, DON'T look in this game.
Faction meltdowns: This one is really getting to me. Who makes level 3 factions with over 80 people and lets em melt down over drama? Doh! I can go to WatchTheGuild.com and see humorous videos about such, but it is not funny when it happens to factions you're in. I have now been in 5 factions, 4 of which were level 3's that EACH had meltdowns over some drama or shortly after the leader left because of drama (usually failed romances or double-crosses.) The 5th faction is only a level 1 and will never have any territory, but I get along fine with everyone in it, since it only contains my own alts. Only one of my alts is not in that faction, having been convinced to join yet-another-level-3 faction, which recently did - guess what? Yeah, it was the 4th of the 4 that melted down, though I have to admit it only softened at the edges - just the 8 most-online players left it. Of course, those 8 players seemed to make about 90% of the faction's online time. I'm still in it because my friend is still in it, but if they get disgusted and switch to another faction, my own alt is going back into my own faction and staying there.

Everything has its beginnings, but it doesn't start at one. It starts long before that... The world is born From zero. The moment zero becomes one is the moment the world springs to life. One becomes 2. 2 becomes 10. 10 becomes 100. taking it all back to one solves nothing. so long as zero remains... One.. Will eventually grow to 100 again.

The fb29 dungeon is short enough as it is. Do you really need to shorten it further?!
