Disable Sound File ?

I like to play with the effect sound on from time to time, but the sound of the pet drives me nuts. One underwater pet (Undine) laughs every 2 seconds. Is there way a to disable the pet sound specifically ? Does anyone know the file folder ?

    I would LOVE to disable all the annoying pet sound effects (Nix, Scorps and Undines give me headaches) but A. I wouldn't know how and B. it is illegal to modify your game files. :/
