kk so im just wondering about the archer damage wise. I have read some guides and one thing that stuck with me is that the only 2 skills that were given at early levels were better off at level 1 o_o. Now i am slightly confused...if i let them stay at level 1 won't my damage be a little..ugh. So my question is...is it up to the skills or the amount of damage? orrr maybe both?

0_0 so what is the skill ? quick shot and take aim ?
Well people usually lvl quick shot for quick damage, and attack rate for demon archer.
Take aim is not so great from low lv to mid lv, but at high lv with good weapon take aim was great. (because percentage damage)

    b:pleased
i leave take aim to some lv then leave it at that lv until i reach high enough lv
for quick shot well it up to you because the damage goes lower later b:surrender
(i guess what people wanted is the demon side of these skill)

Usually i am using take aim > frost arrow > normal attack > knock back when grinding.

archer skills in PvE are not really cast for damage as they are for their effect. thus you use frost arrow for the slow, knockback arrow for the knockback, lightning strike for when the mob is at melee range to attack without suffering melee penalty. the remainder of your fight against a mob consists of normal attacks.

Quilue kinda said it all our skills are for the effects most the time im doing pve im useing auto atk instead of skills when i need a lil extra ill pop a spark but i normaly start out with maybe deadly shot to open if i know im gonna take the mob down quick then ill use a auto atk pop a stun auto atk a bit more knock back if needed but normaly if im starting with deadly shot the mobs is gonna be dead before it gets a hit on me so i dont need knockback

Here is the concept many archers have an issue with:

You're highest DPS most of the time comes from regular shots.

Wizards are bazookas, they deal high damage every attack, and attack fairly slowly. Archers are machine guns, we deal moderate damage really fast with our normal attacks. Many people try to play their archer like its a wizard, by skill spamming attacks because they like seeing big numbers. In PVE especially, this is not what you want to do. As Qui said, you want your skills for their effects, not for their damage. Knock Back arrow is the one you really want to keep at level 1, since the knock back effect doesn't increase with level.

Focus on leveling blazing arrow, winged shell, bow mastery and winged blessing. Those are the really important ones for an archer.

I'm still a noob archer at lvl70, but I've done both the spamming skills route and the regular attack route. Here's what I've learned thus far in PvP...

Opening attack: On your first strike using a skill (stun, frost, take aim, etc) doesn't matter, since at that point the mob is not aggro to you. Afterward regular attacks and a knockback then regular attacks until dead.

This combo will kill most mobs in 4-8 hits. For the most part, at max range I don't even use a skill to open. Just regular attacks. I take 1 hit usually from the ranged magic mobs I'm fighting.

When they say leave a skill at lv 1, they don't mean actually not leveling the skill at all in the beginning levels, as your skills are limited. IE quickshot and take aim. However, once you do have other skills at your disposal, IE lightning strike stunning arrow etc, it's imperative you level those as priority. However, some skills like serated/poison/knockback, leave as level 1.
