How/when do I get a pet?

Hey guys,b:bye

I've been blazing through the forums, but haven't found anything about pets... Obviously I missed it and just can't find it, but anyway.

I'm a level 13 cleric and want to know when and how I get pets?

There has to be a pet guide, but I haven't located it. Any point in the right direction would be greatly appreciated.

    How do I get a pet?
    -Venomancers can get pets that assist in combat. To do so, they have to learn the Tame Beast skill, learnable at level 7. If you're playing a Venomancer, you can click on a monster, then look next to its HP bar. If it has a little "tamable" icon, you can tame it, unless the icon is red, then your lvl is too low. It helps to lower the monster's health before attempting to tame it. When the taming is successful, they get an Egg of the monster. The Pet skill trainer or Pet manager can hatch that, placing the pet in your Pet Bag (press P).
    If you're not a Veno, you can get all-class pets. These pets are made by combining various pet eggs at Mrs Zoologist in the southeast part of Archosaur. They can't assist you in combat, but they don't need feeding either.

    Vitenka is being quite serious. The only class that can have pets that attack are venomancers. There are all class pets (which, as you may have guessed from the name, all classes can have) but they don't attack. They're also made from pets that a veno tames and then makes into all class pets so they can be a bit expensive for low levels.

    Edit: Is it just me or does no one read the class descriptions and/or guides before playing?
