    Hey, I'm not disputing that most mages on HL fail. I blame the fact that it's too easy to level.

    Am I seriously the only demon in this thread?

    EDIT: NVM, there's also Destini.

    Why so few demons? I thought the choice was mostly balanced.

    Don't worry there is lot of demon mages. In my faction is more demons than sages. And in this thread maybe they just don't telling anything.

    1) sage wizzies themselves
    2) fail noobs who have no clue what they're talking about
    3) people posting on lvl 1 clerics behind a facade of an alt because they're number 2
    4) demon wizzes (rare)

    TBH, I was probably going to go demon before I became active on these forums. Through all the discussion I finally decided to go sage.. and am SO glad that I did.. dunno if maybe getting other peoples' opinions and discussing the **** out of it has lead those that discuss it to eventually go sage. Just a thought b:thanks

    Most demon wizards are happy and comfortable with their choice and don't feel the need to justify it or make fun of others. I usually just avoid these threads, unless i see a post asking for help and stuff.

    I'm way too stubborn. If I were level 88 now, I'd probably still go demon. But this time for a different reason...

    everyone else is going sage. Being different ftw.

    And Fizzzzz...Esco does know what he's doing (despite the frowning upon sage fist BM's).

    Sometimes I have to convince him that he does--thinks he's done something wrong...but really he didn't.

    The way I look at it, the sage/demon argument is relative to the personality and play style of the player.

    actually its around 26 now. Quite a few new ones.
    Sins are Scissors. Psychics are Rocks.
    Archers, Venos, Barbs, Wizards, BMs, Mystics, Seekers are Paper.
    ...and Clerics are Mushrooms.
    Paper beats Rock. Scissors beats Paper. Scissors also happens to beat Rock...until Rock gets 50k+ soulforce at which point Rock becomes an unstoppable killing machine that beats Paper... and would beat Scissors but it can't find Scissors, because Scissors are invisible.
    So Scissors beat Paper and avoids Rock, and that is called BALANCE. -cheze

    I was also going to go Demon, until I started regularly reading the forums at work. I changed my mind and went with Sage. I figure I made the best choice for my style of gameplay, definately.

    If I pyro-gush crit or gush-pyro crit, half of the mages on my server die. And about 10% of the 89+ ones will die to a gush crit. It's the silly pure MAG builds people use even though they're poor.


    EDIT: and lol over half the mages go demon, I have a hard time selling sage wiz skills, stopped trying
    Wondering how much longer these **** packs are going to be around.

    b:laugh LOL @ what you said but here is what i have to say STFU! it dosent really matter what you choose the only thing is that you know how to use it i am sage and i am doing pretty good this morning i beat my friend sabet in a duel 3 times and he is a 99 demon wiz^^ i say demon and sage have their ups and downs >.> so its pretty much equal

    I'll go sage when im 89 but i still need to lvl up some genies and collect spirit so i can max out all of my skills before.

    The main reason why i dont want the awesome crit and channeling bonus from demon + extra dmg on core skills is that

    a) i want to solo aoe grind when i have 3 sparks +1 bar
    so i need every single extra mana and chi i can get
    b) my mage is not build for crits but for average dmg
    c) i want to do mass pvp like tw not pk and duel

    but i never would say a demon wiz is a fail or sage is uber since sage is completely worthless when you dont lvl up to 99+ and sage is worse for pk in my opinion

    Back to the topic, Sage n demon as wiz are really good in their own way.

    I just prefer Sage in tw/pk, just cause chi skill < earth shield < go kill people

    Demon wizard usually take awhile to go out during pk or just go with no shield on, that just send them back to sz soon. (Yes cloud eruption is good, but still gotta wait for it)
