In order to survive as long as a decade the game would need to become much more succesful than it is now. A major graphical revamp would also be required, and it remains unlikely that one will be done in the scale that would be needed to ensure such longevity. I very much doubt our version of the game will remain available, although PWI as a company may still be around.

This game will still be available online however, more than likely through private servers.

What would PWI be like in 10 years?
    Maybe...

    ~More classes
~Higher gold prices because of more sells.
    ~Maybe more events.
~A low chance of all classes getting more skills.
    ~The PWI map getting bigger.
~Maybe another server (a PvP server).
    ~More QQ.
    ~More weapons, Armor, etc.
~More Oracle like things for the cash shop.
    ~More cash shop items.
~There's a of chance of the game dieing.
~Lastly more air and ground mounts.

That's my best guess of what might happen to this game in 10 years. b:laugh

Looking back at the progress games have made in the last 15 years and seeing how rapidly new games are developed, i don't think any game can last 10 years. In a decade, some online games might still have a fraction of the population they had in their prime, but most will just be dead. PW and similar games are even more likely to perish in the long run.

Well, I'm not sure if PWI is going to be around for 10 years. The PWE company might still be around though. The company will probably adapt to future MMOs to compete with other companies and that means replacing old games with new ones or giving them a makeover. If we're talking about PWI, it's going to have to get a huge graphic remake along with a much larger map and maybe even gameplay.

And now faith, hope, and charity remain; but the greatest of these is charity.

not true. blizzard games last more than a decade because of 2 things.

    1. they keep the game updated even after 10 years. look in the news, one of the grandfathers of MMOs is recieving a 1.13 update. they took play requests for what they wanted to see in a new patch, and basically gave it to them. to be quite honest, it wasnt gamebreaking either. it was beautiful to see what they wanna put in. no revamps of anything is ever needed.

    2. the games are just that fun. if PW is really that fun, well see if it stands the test of time like its predecessors of MMOs. its p2p rivals have been around for 8-11 years, and still shine with new things to do.

^..... i doubt it will be here.b:sad..i dont know if any game has had a chance to go that distance yet, has there? it might go the route of RF, and wind up only being found on prvate servers, not run officially because the company has moved on to new and 'better' games but who knows things change so much all the time.

    Long gone and buried.

How can any game with next to no fun and entertaining content, that allows you to reach endgame level in a single month, last 10 years?

Personally I don't believe PWI ever intended a long-term quality mmo anyway, despite the fact the original product they were given to work with was very high quality. The game is more of a short term mass-money making investment really.

I don't think so. There was still thing unreachable in 2-3h. Example green set of gear, etc.
Also Diablo wasn't real mmorpg. Diablo just showed the path of future mmorpg.

theres always 100k+ people on the battle.net servers for D2, its an MMO.

and green gear? are you kidding me? set items are wothless, and not even considered 'endgame.' please, try again, this isnt 1.09.

even the best unique 'gold' colored things can be found easily in a few hours of play, by nice players kind enough to give them to you if they dont need them.

at the rate thing are SO easily obtained like lv90 in 2 weeks( oracles and hypers)
the tokens which make any gears easy to obtain, the fact that ppl dont work or put in any effort anymore
sadly pwi mite not make it for the next 5 years
if they keep this game may end quickly cuz most of my friends alredy left saying its way to easy and more suited to cash shoppers

"Through the darkness light can always emerge, it is only when the unwilling come upon this light that fear takes over. Emerging from this darkness takes more then courage, it takes faith in ones own mind and more importantly in ones own heart. To deny the light is to deny yourself the feeling of true happiness and true peace within your own soul. Denying your own happiness and your own soul is denying all that one has to live for."

10 years.if anythign left its not with this many servers, merged fewer and fewer. might just be a pvp one left by then.
will need huge graphical revamp, which is possible, seen done in other games, but devs in china, doubt they will put effort into that. more money by using time on the future mmo's.

    "...endgame in a month"?!

anyone that does that 1.has no life, spends 24/7 ingame, 2.is spending gobs on oracles, etc. with that kind of situation, im not surpised that anyone would think the game is going to go kaput quick...no time to actually enjoy what you're playing.
