the game started off awesome with great events that did not require actual real money to be spent. the first i remember was the free fairy fashion for halloween right after the game opened. lost of events followed and i can't remember them all. xmas card, new years, valentines day, spring event, for a few. all of these were rewards that could be earned in game. it was fun for everyone.

lately the "events" are more cash item oriented. the recent GM event gave me some hope, but the rewards were rather dissapointing. i know that PWI is a business and as such needs to profit to stay free to play. but as us players have been dragging our credit cards out repeatedly for packs, can we have a few "free" events? i am sure that most players won't even mind if the same event from the previous year is just plopped in without changing a thing. maybe it would boost the spirits of players. so many angry people in world chat and on the forums b:cry

They are working on trying to improve the GM events, so keep giving feedback like more drops etc. and I am hoping they will be changed accordingly.

One thing that I did notice though that not a lot of people mention at all, was how much stuff was given in that long TB chain quest with the expansion...10 refine stones normally available only in cashshop and a plat hp charm come to mind...all in the past were those dinky bronze/emerald charms. I thought that was pretty nice.

Yes. I like the platinum charm. Basically have not used it much on my Archer.

But the way things are going, I doubt non-cs events will be any good unless you are at the best among your competitors.

When I first saw them announce our event on Dreamweaver, I was like aight this might be interesting. Well you're right bout having to be good enough to stay their with the bosses that were spawned. Kill them and hopefully you did the most damage. What about every all the other players that were their getting one shotted by these bosses. Could have randomly given out some exp to composate on their loss from dying. Seing boutigue items come up for sale and stuff, yeah they can do more events for non cash items it's not realy that difficult for them to do. Maybe the need a few lessons from guild wars, they have awesom events for almost every holiday.

The tide quest chain was pretty much the most awesome thing the devs have done for us since I can remember. Tons of exp and a vast amount of coin and freebies. I actually managed +6 on a GX just from tideborn refinement freebies (got greedy and blew that though b:surrender)

But yeh, maybe a few quests like that every so often, except only for a week or so, would make some pretty decent events.
