Misty Forest Rings o.O

Ok so I see every archer and their Mama with a pair of MF Rings so of course I am like ":O I want me some too" since I am nearing the req lvl b:chuckle But tbh...do we really need them...If you get 2 MF rings..that gives you +100hp...forget the accuracy..we are archers so we have better accuracy and evasion than most players..so am I missing some tiny little detail about MF Rings which makes almost every archer want them o.O Heck, I say keep the Barbaric Warrior's Rings and make them +2/+3 and trade them out at lvl 88 for the Heavenly Lord rings >:D which for some odd reason are cheap as **** compared to BW rings and MF rings >.>
Ok seeing as Ho I only know like 2 archers..well 3 archers ingame I usually ask them for all my archerly advice =3 But I am just so torn Y.Y For the most part my archer is Pure Dex except for like 5 vit put in at early lvls..like before lvl 10 XD when I was deciding whether to go Hybrid or Pure..but that is besides the point XD...but I will refer back to these two archer in my point!
Point:...I was looking through the AH and saw the Helm of Pirate and i was ":O I want" so I bought it for an all time low of 99k >:D but when I bought it I realized that I need 117 str QQ...so I asked my two archer friends which type of helms they used and both said Arcane..which I now see why Y.Y But I really like this Helm...So should I just go ahead and put in the rest of the str to be able to use it or should I just buy myself or trade the helm for an Arcane helm o.o..would I gimp my char terribly that it will never balance out fi I put in all that str o.O

I hear Misty Forest Rings are useful for PvP. It serves as a cheap version of the TT90 gold rings or the Lunar rings. Something like that.
Don't get Helm of Pirate. Don't get an Arcane Helm. Get Helm of the Lion Spirit.0 -
:O Helm of Lion Spirit...never heard of it but I will look for it![SIGPIC]<--Rem...remmeber that >.>[/SIGPIC]0

It's a fb51 mold drop from one of the bosses. Probably the best helm to have pre-endgame (lvl 100) for a pure dex archer.[SIGPIC][/SIGPIC]

Misty forest rings are good till Heavenly for pvp , no good reason for pve ( except a blind archer b:surrender )0

they are great for fighting other archers, sins, or dex BMs. but 1 is enough. 2 is kind of over doing it. i have 2 heavenly lord rings. and i switch between my MF ring and my HL ring depending on what im fighting. anything with AA isnt going to dodge youre attack anyways. so sharpen tooth, stun, regular shot, should be more then enough to take em down0

Ah kool just the explination that I was looking for lolz. Well since I don't duel or PK I will just stick with my BW rings and refine them =3 In the meantime I will scope out the AH for a cheap pair of HL rings and jump on the sweetest deal I see...found one today already lol b:victory[SIGPIC]<--Rem...remmeber that >.>[/SIGPIC]0 -
Misty Forests are good for those levels because it also adds more damage than most rings you can find (then there's Eternal Solitude ). i never got dual misties...back in the days they were 7m each -.-'Elena Costel: I wash my hands of this affair.

I keep 2 just because if I ever come across a higher level archer or a fist bm I end up missing the important shots aka stun, paralize, that last 1 hit before the fight is over.
Although I still seem to miss an arcane wizard with both rings on b:surrender0 -

If you like to own players, i would say use misties. Because i have 5.2k accuracy, and STILL MISS A LOT, Even on Arcane QQ. But with half that accuracy, i barely win in duels/pk.Please donate money into my mailbox

Maximum hit ratio is ~95%. You will always miss about 1 in 20 shots at best.0 -

Pfffff I thought only I was missing sharpened tooth a lot b:shocked that's why I'm gonna make a misty , the missins makes me depresed too b:sad
P.S.- Becase of all the missing I think I'm a blind archer b:shedtear0 -
i thinkt the good way is 1 misty ring ( for accu +50 % very important for pvp, and +6 vit always nice for archer) and 1 heavenly lord when u reach level 88( for +2% crit). The mix is nice, cheap and is good for both pvp and pve.
Thats the way to go even if u r not doing pvp. With +5 k accu dont miss too much on mobs and boss, and can duel easely all class.
When u r an archer every shot count, and when u fight a mob or dueling, a miss is never a good thing. Wearing 2 heavenly for +4 % crit failed. U dont mind about +2 crit if u miss too much.0 -

This is definitely not true in pve, not sure of pvp.[SIGPIC][/SIGPIC]

When it comes down to it, if PWI wants your shot to miss, you will miss lol, even with 99% accuracy on a lv 2 mob outside of plume b:laugh0

Sorry to disagree, but I believe this is true in pve. Pve was what I was speaking of. Pvp is harder to tell because many characters have higher evasion. This is very easy to tell in pve, as said by another poster in the accuracy and dodge thread, it has been confirmed that 95-96% is the hit ration maximum. Before you claim what is true or not run tests and give us your data. This is what is true: you ALWAYS have a chance to miss! It doesn't matter what your accuracy is there is always the chance to miss. The question is what is the chance to miss. The generally agreed upon miss ratio for high accuracy characters is 4-5%. Just like in tabletop D&D, if you roll a 1 on a 20 sided dice, you miss, and it doesn't matter what your hit ratio is, you miss.0 -

o? gime a link? it's true that you always have a chance to miss, but it is also true that on certain mobs my hitrate is 99%, not maxed at 95%.Elena Costel: I wash my hands of this affair.

I was actually wondering this too. I've been asking end game archers and I keep getting different answers. The only answer that made sense was "If you want PvP, get Mistys. if you want crits, get Heavenly." Nice to have a thread that goes into a bit more detail.
And dont feel bad about missing STA....it happens ALOT to me, and I even invested in shards to boost accuracy.
And I would like to know how PW calculates miss rates. My Aim Low, which supposedly has a 90% chance to stun, misses the stun part like 70% of the time.
Edit: The AimLow does do the physical damage almost every time, but the stun rarely seems to work0 -
You know, I see that you posted you missed so many shots out of hundreds on a world boss Asterelle in that thread. Perhaps 4-5% isn't the maximum miss ratio. Perhaps it's just Murphy's Law, that when I miss a sharptooth on a boss, it just doesn't seem like it's 99% hit ratio. Then again it could be.0

I did a trial of around 400 arrows back in june or so on a WB to confirm the effect of the crit buff from demon tooth. I had a listed 99% accuracy at the time and missed about 3 or 4 shots of the trial.
I don't think I mentioned it here but there wasn't anything anomalous about the crit and accuracy rate working as described.

So TRUE otherwise can anyone explain how the hell i missed 5 times in row by using skills while having 99% probability to hit ?b:angry
So having miss 1/20(95-99% hit) or any other relations or statements are BS when comes to PvE.

One word that spikes fear in my archerly heart: Snowmen!
100% to hit and still miss?
I must have done that on purpose."?" IS my avatar.0 -
I've never paid close attention to the Hit% and Evade% listings on mobs. I've always heard Hit% was capped at 95-96% but I have seen that is incorrect and others have posted so as well. This thread and the evasion thread has had me pay closer attention to it.
At the moment, I'm really doubting the actual Hit%(at least for now have not tested Evade%) is accurate. I've been beating the tar of out these Twilight Feligars in 3-1 with claws and I have a 96% accuracy listing against them. That should mean I miss 1 out of 25 hits, but I can not score a miss easily at all. In about 10 mobs punching the daylights out of them with IDK 30-40 hits maybe to kill them, I have seen a grand total of three misses I think. My hit ratio is more like 99% from my tests, but it shows 96%. I'm just not believing it's accurate yet.0 -
Cyanea - Lost City wrote: »If your actual chance to hit was 99.6% how should that be displayed?
This is the innocuous explanation that would work for almost anything else. But, the snowmen had to be purpose built to have an insanely high hit probability for almost everyone. I expect they had an evasion of 0. The fact that even so there was still a noticeable chance to miss suggests that the developers did not really put a great deal of thought into the extreme-value properties of a formula that should have been more important in the game. Oh well, instead of fixing it we'll just have a new character class that gets evasion totally differently - by having stealth. Problem solved."?" IS my avatar.0 -
