I think I have a bit of a problem, and I'm posting around different places I visit to see what I can learn. As well as searching all over the net, but I've yet to really find anything. b:sad

For about half a year now, I've been getting theses scar-like bumps showing up on my torso right about the height of the bottom of the sternum and stretches from one side to the other in random patterns. There are about 15 of them right now and they do not itch and do not hurt unless I scratch them, just as any typical bump would. They are darker colored than my skin, but still skin color. Reddish. Not quite as brown as a mole. They've been popping up slowly. Like I would go to sleep and have a new one when I wake up. I don't have insurance, so I've avoided going to the doctor, but its getting to the point where I'm considering it. Even more so now, as something else has started to happen that may, or may not be related.

My second concern is, as I went to shower today, I noticed that some pores on my chest looked a little odd. Basically, that I could see them at all was odd. A little speck of odd skin color. I wondered maybe they were starting to form a blackhead or something, and I went to pull out the little blonde, nearly invisible hair from the follicle and it came out with no resistance. Not only that, but it seemed like it was pulling out of something gooey. It didn't just pop out like any other hair, but it was like right under my skin had liquidized and released those hairs on my chest. I rubbed a cloth over the area and the hair didn't pull out, but if I singled out just a few of the hairs and pulled them away from the skin, they all did the same thing, came out without me feeling a thing and seemed as if I was pulling them out of clear, melted butter(for sake of describing the consistancy). I'm really kind of worried... b:sad But if anyone could help me try and figure anything out before I decide whether or not to take a visit to a doctor or dermatologist I would be extremely grateful. Thank you for any and all of your thoughts and help. b:worried

Edit: Also, I'm female, if that helps if it may be something hormonal or anything.

Here's an image to show the color and how they're spread about.. not a wonderful picture since I don't have any good cameras or anything, but it may help shed a little bit of light for someone, and then hopefully for me. http://i159.photobucket.com/albums/t127/trigger-stormfire/Marks.jpg

I'm not sure what's happening but in my experience if someone weird is happening to your body then you should probably get it checked out. It might not be anything serious but if it is then the money you'd spend getting it taken care of sooner will be much less than what you'd spend to fix it once it gets serious (if it isn't already). Just because you feel fine it doesn't mean that everything's alright.b:surrender

I suppose that's true.. But I honestly don't have money enough to potentially waste going to the doctor.. b:surrender I may end up doing so just having no other option but I've always been one to try and see things through until it gets too much for me to handle. I rarely even take pain relievers unless I'm hurting and have work that I'll need to deal with it through. I don't WANT anything to be seriously wrong, but that's what makes me not want to risk wasting the money if I get what I want. ><; I'm seriously torn. It is good advice, though, and I'm just too stubborn to listen and do what I even know is the good idea. :<

Hmm... The spots are most likely moles. It's usually inheritable, so you could ask if one or both of your parents have them.

As for the loose hairs, I can't really say, but I don't think these are connected.
    Who needs a sig anyways?

That's sorta what it seems like. But at the same time(and yes, at least my dad does have quite a few moles) I do have moles myself in other places and they don't look quite the same. The moles seem more fleshy in texture and brown in color, while these seem more red and smoother. But there are similarities and that's been a thought, but them all appearing at age 20 at random intervals and only in one general area seems fishy. b:surrender

Because I trust people here and like to think I have friends who may have some insight into things I don't as I'm sheltered and really have never had anything wrong with me. This is one of maybe 3 places I ever visit on a regular basis, so its the only place I know to go to for help apart from actually giving up the money I don't have to go see a doctor who won't do anything for me anyway since I can't afford tests and maybe just thinking I could come across someone who may know what I'm going through and have some thoughts themselves for how I should go about dealing with it through experience. You never know where you'll find people who can help you with simple or unusual things. b:surrender

It sounds much like Sebaceous cyst, which is common and not serious.

This isn't really the best place to ask and it's best to get it checked by a professional (even if many of the doctors these days do seem useless) and get the proper treatment.

You've scared me by just making me look up what those look like. b:shocked They don't look similar. Those cysts, if the images are correct look whiteish and are a lot rounder than these are. Also a lot more raised off the skin like a lump rather than just a slight bump. But I'm thankful that they don't seem anything alike cause those images of them being removed scared me. b:chuckle And yes, I realize, though as of the moment I'm unable to go, so why not get some ideas. (I must say, of the three places I've posted, here are the most intelligent and most contributive people responding to this. Which would normally be unexpected, but us gamers can be much smarter than people think. :P ) Though with how it looks I may have a really really tiny one on my bottom eyelid and my nose? I've got little bumps there too that I've had for years and they look similar, so maybe that would explain those ones. :O

And no, that's not it. b:chuckle They aren't itchy and not patchy.

I love you guys. <3 You're so much nicer and caring than the other people who've responded elsewhere. Even if this isn't exactly the most beneficial place to ask for help like this. X3

Btw moles dont just show up brown, like Tada. they actually start a little on the reddish side mostly. Then shade to brown. The hair thing is weird, Ive nvr heard anything like that before. Something to think of, that alot of us pass up as, "W/E". Bed Mites! Microscopic annoying biting little creatures that actually live in ur bed. Opinion, first wash ur sheets, like now w/ a bleach. Try that first. Did u buy any new clothes recently? If so, u might be allergic to the material they r made of. Try those two first, see what happens.

b:question Well, I've not got new clothes. And they've been popping up slowly over a long time, so its nothing that just came from a single event. At least I'm pretty sure so, unless its some sort of virus, like how a wart spreads if its broken or anything. I've no clue what's going on with the hair. b:surrender Its really odd and a bit freaky. Makes me think of an alien movie where your insides turn to goo. b:shocked And I think I'll do that, with washing the sheets tonight. Right now, in fact, as you said. :P But I can't think these bumps are bites since they don't go away at all, even if I'm specific about not touching them or picking at them anymore. b:thanks

Wait.. would bleach ruin grey fleece sheets. o.o

    Oh, they dont? b:surprised I didn't know that. And I've got two sets of sheets I've had and switched every once in a while for a good 5 years. But if anything's gonna be a problem with the bed, its probably the mattress. :< My parents never bought us new once since we were 4. So... the mattress is 16 years old. ><;

    1. If you're in the US, call ask-a-nurse.

    2. Go to a doctor, for a checkup is only like $50.

    3. Check around with your churches, see if there's a free clinic around.

Times are tough, but your health should be a priority!!

*tilts head* I'm not sure about checking with churches, but when I go back to my free family planning clinic(which is ALL THEY DO >.> ) I'll see if maybe they know something of somewhere I could try going.

I've been a CNA and a Med Tech for years and I've seen more than I want to sometimes. So here is my sincerest advice. First of all depending on the state if you go to The Department of Social Health Services you can get medical coverage for free if you have a debilitating condition or you do not make enough money. Second, I know that it's tempting to search online to solve a medical issue or inquire into what you might have, but here's the issue... The human body is a complicated thing and yes there may be commonalities in your symptoms and the ones you read online, but family history, genetics and a the lack of a proper medical degree make self diagnosis dangerous. Finally When in doubt see a doctor whether or not you have insurance. Yes, it can be expensive, but if you talk to your doctor they can reduce the cost of your visit based on your income or even allow you to make payments on the visit. Endeavor to communicate because that's key here. Lastly nothing is more important than your health so please take care of yourself.

Thanks for taking the time to read this,

It really wasn't my intention to self diagnose, but to just get ideas. b:surrender While that's the case, I've pretty much come to a conclusion as to what it could be based on symptoms, timing, circumstance, and everything just fits. And I know that's not good, but I dunno. While I question these things and want to know if something's wrong, I'm really not afraid to die. Especially from anything involved with health. I mean. I'm going to die eventually, and considering the state of this country's economy and whatever the heck it is going on with what this idiot(Obama, of course) wants with healthcare, I'm not feeling confident in it at all. And with all experience I've had with family and friends and doctors, I know that, at least around here, none of them do anything for you but prescribe drugs that end up making you worse off anyway. They won't even look at you. I'm talking both medical and psychiatric doctors. I'm reminded of a movie called 'First Do No Harm'. Well. These doctors always have. As well as I'm just not one for drugs. The only things I've ever taken are cold medicine and pain reliever, which is still rarely. My thoughts have always been that I'd rather go through whatever may be wrong with me naturally. I don't like to take advantage of technology and advancement as well as I know that in itself can be dangerous. I'd rather just have my life balance on what it was meant to as a human with weaknesses and vulnerability. But that doesn't mean I can't be curious on what's going on with me, so as to why I've posted this at all and been considering seeing a doctor. I may still go if things get worse or something new comes up. I really do appreciate your comment. (I knew there was reason to post in places like this. You never know what experience some people may have, or how intelligent and educated. b:thanks ) Unfortunately, I am a stubborn person, so I can't promise that I will follow your advice. But it is not put to waste as I know that it is truth and the smart thing to do. If things go badly, it is what I'll do, to go to the doctor. If it ends up that I'm too late, that's my fault, not yours or anyone's who's given me suggestions and advice. b:sweat Every single comment from anyone on this is appreciated and always will be.

b:surrender I think you should go to a doctor seriously.

Like my mom for instance put off with cancer screening tests until she got to the stage where its hard to kill the cancer off and she had to go through a ton more appointments, surgeries, treatment, etc. just to kill it off.

And for me, I used to faint like every day once or twice. But then I finally talked to my doctor about it and it seems that my body doesn't take enough iron in and other vitamins. Since I talked to my doctor, I've been doing everything he told me and I haven't fainted since Monday! b:cute

So even if your really stubborn and stuff (trust me, I'm really stubborn), you should go to a doctor. I'm pretty sure there are free clinics around where you live, since I volunteer at hospitals and homeless shelters, and other places a ton. Look one up in your phone directory, I'm sure you'll find one b:surrender

Well. I've got so many nice people pming me and commenting on here about it, even if I don't want to go to an actual doctor, I"m going to ask what I can learn from my family planning nurse and see what she may know. And I'm considering just going to strictly a dermatologist over it at least to start with. I may wait a month or so to come up with some money, but I'm considering it now. b:surrender I just wish all this stuff came up before I graduated and lost my ability to be on my parent's insurance. b:sad I can't afford to pay insurance, and the last thing I'd want is to find out I have something that need continuous care, so I'm almost feeling like I plain just would rather let it eat away at me since I'd have a crappy quality of life without money to feed myself anyway. :<
