    For that matter, how hard would it be to insert a ladder into this game? Or would that ruin it for people (ego crusher!)?

    There is no means of evaluating "skill", other than possibly win and loss stats. Or, in this case, kills and deaths. As you know, we already have a ladder on the kills.
