Evasion is screwed up. Formulas for it are redundant. If evasion really worked archers would OP, but sadly would also make sins more godly than they already are.

Blessing of the Condor overwrites the original evasion buff archers have; that s the main reason i don't use it in pvp.

In pve it can act as an extra lifesaver. Like i mentioned in Asterelle's thread about aoe-grinding in OVS. Using Blessing fo the Condor before starting Barrage has almost the same effect as using an immunity pot.

As I mentioned in my earlier post Evasion does actually work. It isn't broken. With full evasion build (+12'd evasion ornaments and 4 socketed max evasion stones and demon evasion buff), physical attacks cannot hit you unless they have a very strong accuracy build behind them. I am here talking about a situation where maybe one every 40 hits actually hits you. For fun I used to get people to hit me, then I'd go and make myself a cup of tea, when I returned they were still trying to hit me. It was funny.

The reason evasion sucks is because it cannot evade magic or skills. So it is pointless. you cannot back it up by sharding for HP since, for it to work at all, you need to exhaust every possible avenue of increasing evasion (including shards).

So its not actually broken. It just sucks b:chuckle

Funny, a lvl60+ assassin missed my main bm (he doesn't even have enough dex for latest fists yet) 4 times in a row and my bm was in the 3x range that time (no evasion stacked). You are a fist archer or something? b:laugh Or pure MAG???

Evasion have it's uses with the right combination (I prefer HP and def over evasion though, mind you), you just got to know what to do with it, L2P b:bye

I can't remember now, but I don't think so. It wasn't on pwi that I did this. I went "elsewhere" just to check out different builds, if you catch my drift. I used all the highest evasion equipment and all equipment with %evasion increase etc. Oh, and my dex had reached the moon.

I think we should all go to the suggestions forum and vote for making this whole chunk of the game usable (and for making archers playable for that matter too).

Interesting thread. I never cared about evasion on my archer for obvious reasons, but I'm kinda-sorta making my sin to be a pseudo-evasion-tank. I'm well aware that it's not going to work quite as well as I want (I'd consider it working if I had a 40% evade rate... currently I get something in the high 20s depending on the mob).

But my biggest beef with evasion is that at least 75% of the mobs an archer fights just cast at you from a distance, making evasion useless. At least on a sin you usually fight something at melee range, and coupled with Focused Mind, evasion becomes at least somewhat useful.

A BM frined of mine helped me test out evasion on my lvl 87 sin. currently i have 8K evasion and 5300 accuracy on her. He has 3100 evasion and 2500 accuracy. now the big thing, APS he is currently sititng with 3.33 aps demon sparked, whle i have 2 aps. there is also a lvl difference of 8 lvl's between us.

fully buffed we did a test to check to see if i could avoid more hits from him with 2 sets of gear. 1 was pure evasion, 1 wasfull HP based, with the HP based one my evasion was only 2400 and he only missed me 3 out of 10 times. With the evasion gear he missed me 7 of 10 times. evasion is not broken, this test was performed with several other characters, including a sin with 8K accuracy. the overall effect was the same. higher accuracy compensates for higher evasion. now as for PVE most mobs my lvl miss me 5 out of 10 hits, what that means for mathematics i haven't a clue so don't ask me.

Before people talk **** about a build try it out. no toon is ever perfect, and to be honest in my opinion i prefer to see different setups and styles over the same boring ****. Be original, have fun, try different things. isn't that the point of playing?

Meh everyone builds how they want, and everyone has an opinion on whats best. really though the only people that cry about how much a build sucks are the ones that can't beat that build. if you play PVE or PvP the rule is always the same. a Build is only as good as the person behind it. and like true PWI fashion we talk **** about other people's builds for one reason and one reason only, because that one time someone has a different build they ruined you and there was no other reasoning behind it.

No, im pretty sure people talk **** about evasion build cus it sucks.

I'm also pretty sure people talk **** about things like AA barb and HA cleric and Mana shards because they all suck as well, and not because we cant beat them.

I'm fairly sure that gear is the primary basis for skill in PWI.

I mean, LA wizards are still awesome right? And Veno is the OP class? This is 2008 right? Am I in the right year? No? fml.

I'll use a relevant example. Vit build clerics. Y U NO HEAL GOOD?
