Eqpt wont stay in imbue box. im stumped

my char is L28.
i made a sleeve at the tailor. it is L4 item
i have a L3 soul gem to put in one of the 3 sockets that came with the sleeve
when i open the imbue window, the stone will stay, but the eqpt will not stay

i read the newbie FAQ's and about 10 pages in in this forum. i saw nothing to help. thanks in advance

    Are you wearing the sleeve? You can't imbue/refine/etc. equipped items.

    i went back after posting and remembered the not equipped deal.

    sure enough, that was it. i knew it was some dumb detail. thanks again.
