How does scarlet fruit work?

I got my reward for completing my fb39 which was scarlet fruit. I'm confused about what it actually does, and if it's worth using.

It says it 'improves ones spiritual cultivation', so does that mean I will move up from aware of discord? And if that is what happens, would I miss out on the exp/rep/spirit from completing spiritual culies in my 40's, or do I still get those quests?

    You right-click it to eat it. It's not nearly as good as it sounds; all it does is give you 8,888 XP and 2,222 SP. I'd recommend selling it, since lazy people will pay absurd amounts for them.
