Need help with quest,

ookay this is seriously driving me insane..
the quest in the begining of the game where u need to help the apotocary by getting his stuff off that ship. there has to be an easy way to do this.. i just keep jumping and trying to get on top of this rope but its seriously not working. someone help me please
