Lol your theory is completely flawed, its actually the other way around. Psys hit harder then wizzy/spell (mostly because of Black Vodoo) and therefore does more damage/hit.

You see wizz actually has more potential to be better as equipment DOES NOT give -cast time but rather -channel time, and if both were given a chance to make modify their characters wizzy would win hands down because its very much possible to get ultra high -channeling gear.

Also you may be referring to skills like sandstorm (one of the strongest wizz spells) which has a channel of 2.5 seconds...NOW IMAGINE THAT with -50+ channeling gear 1 second channel and BAM

Hmm, well to answer the original question if you are a newbie and you want to make a caster as your first toon then I suggest Psy as in the early levels it is MUCH MUCH stronger.

Now for wizz, well I have seen people spend excess of $1000 on games...and well if you are willing to do that wizz is the superior choice. If you can spend an a VAST amount of $ on making new equipment with -X% chanelling there is no question you should go wizz, as mentioned above -chanelling gear helps wizz MUCH more then psy.

then u also should realize that a psy will not just stand there and let u sleep/seal/stun them. especially with soul of retaliation on. with that on u will just end up sealing/stunning/sleeping yourself aswell.

all im saying and all i have ever been saying since the expansion was released is that ppl do not give the new classes enough credit.

zzz i hate when ppl keep say wiz is long at chan and psy can do 3 skills while wiz do one. chack out pyro and gush both of them is as fast as psy fastest skills and do alot of dmg. the stats on pyro and gush is abit lower them psy ones but wiz has more magic dmg stats on theri cllass stats then a psy do so . so far there wasnt a psy that out dmged me and i got faw 84+ ones in my faction

idc whos better i just dont want ppl go saying stuff like wiz is slow psy is fast go psy.

u need to use something inbetween sutra and BT because they both use 2 sparks. that gap in between could be the difference.

If they time it right , You may be outta sparks. Im pretty sure its possible for them to put up pychic will in that time(if they know ur there. If they are unaware then u dont need sutra really.) EX: cleric using plume b4 u BT.

ijs , Give psy SOME credit. As a matter of fact all this stuff sounds good on paper but we won't know till we get some good psy players and ppl are actually in these situations

and I agree all this psy vs wiz animosity is just dumb

Yeah... Kinda looks like children playing rock-paper-cissors. Psychic Will maxed lasts for 8 seconds, not to mention possible Demon/Sage version. You're comparing lv11 skills with normal skills.

If you use it as soon as you encounter the Wizard (you shouldn't forget that Psychics cast a LOT faster than Wizards, so it's really not hard to see that by the time you cast your precious Seal or stun, Psychic Will will be on and running well. Assuming you chain with BT, it would probably just match with the very end of Psychic Will and would still get half-reduced...). And yeah, so far every single Wizard I crossed path with opened the fight with BT, so my first reflex is to cast Psychic Will. And anyway, most of theses fights don't last for much, so Psychic Will really has the ability of covering most of those encounters.

But then again, those are just hypotheses. We will see once we can actually organize a decent fight with two high levels Psychic and Wizard.

Just now I watched a lvl 90 Wizard get his **** kicked by a Psychic his lvl. and he was using BT >Sutra and tried to to sleep seal and stun on the Psy he ended up doing the status affects to himself due to Soul of Retaliation(Which has Perfect Accuracy to reflect back status effects) Something you arrogant Wizzies keep forgetting got damnit! and gtfo the Psychic Section and we'll stay outta yours. As I say I could give less than a damn what you can do UNTIL I get my 79/100 skills and Demon/Sage skills. Yes I admit Wizards are **** beast but we don't need you arrogant little hotheads dissing us k thx byeb:bye

in case of white voodoo(is my 2nd nightmare in psy vs wiz) what can i say try to manage to dmg him and try to break his defences such as soul of stuner or soul of retaliation asap, indeep i dont rly belive some1 can kill each other charmed, dont let him cast soulburn on u or if he does holy path tricky, dont let him strike back wiht black voodoo.

the trick is about that wiz can choose when to silence/sleep, psy cant, it will be always depends on ur opponent so ur opponent may control it soon or later

If a psy knows you are there, casts soul of retaliation, and you sleep the psy, you end up right where you started. The psy now has no retaliation, and he knows you're there.

One thing that I've noticed I never block is the seal(the circle under or total silence).Also sometimes I block sleep or stun and never get the effect but the effect doesn't goes to the caster either.The only time it's when sleep or stun gets on me usually the cleric gets sleeped too.So it's not a 100% accuracy as it seems still a good counter on cleric and bms skills.
Also don't overestimate yourself a good player will kick your **** no matter his class.A good bm will cast will of boshisatva and run into you and shred you do death.In the begining i was using psychic will during tw and even if it was cool to see the resists once you enter the bms stun lock skills you never exit alive.Best thing to do is fly as high as you can.
The only thing i find pathetic is that wizards feel insecure about psychic/wizards and come bash brainlesly here.All comes down to what have you done in this 50 days,have you mastered your skills or you have oracled to lvl 100 like swordsman.You should by now know all there is to know even if you are a psy or assassin or you are one of the old classes how to fight them.If not,don't hide behind a wall of ipocrisy that it's the fault of the new classes.As I said I've won against players up to lvl 96 and got beaten to death by others same level as me.No shame into losing and if someone is better than you you respect it and move along.Also as i said this class is 50 days old while others played theirs for 500 days pretty much.
Haha I always end up long so if I say now long story short sounds almost as an insult to those who actually read it all,but long story short:don't generalise into classes it's you that win and you that lose.Give credit to the person behind the screen too and don't blame it on the class or thank it.
One last thing I really hate it when it happens to crit and steal aggro(i know i'm not the best DD in the world but i'm learning)and some prlck goes:I knew u'd steal aggro coz u're a psychic.I would have done the same thing if I was an archer or wizard.

How long do you scrubs want to continue the pissing contest over what class beats what?

Every Wizard strategy has a way to counter it.
Every Psychic strategy has a way to counter it.

Those counters have counters. And those counters have counters. It runs in a cycle, with no true top position.

Every bit of forethought or preparation can be stopped/outsmarted by someone else's forethought if they know what to expect. Prediction beats prediction. And hell, random chance even plays a factor.

The end result will most likely be that the one who understands his own abilities and his opponent's abilities better, will be the winner the majority of the time.

Neither class is 100% win over the other. The winner will most often be the stronger player. "Strong" not just in level, but in gear, and overall playing ability. If this concept is too hard to understand, quit PW and save us the time of reading about which class gives you the bigger hard-on.

Both classes are fierce in the right hands. For the time being though, I think people need to give the psychics just a little bit of slack. We have tons of pro wizards who have shown us how badass they are, but we probably only need one hand to count the pro psychics. And probably not even the whole hand.

Much props to Mizuoni and Franz. Looking forward to hearing more intelligent testing and results from you guys, and other players with constructive opinions.

I have to say Wizards are one of my favorite classes to fight so far.
Not because there weaker or stronger than us, but because of the amount of thought a good duel will take with both sides playing smartly.
like a figurative game of chess.

Now I can't speak for 90+ fights between psys and wizards but as it stands right now I feel we're pretty even. I've never once felt underpowered or "lacking" when fighting wizards, even with there 79 skills.
(BT can hurt though if your not paying attention b:chuckle )

Whoever got the most cash, whoever got the skills and luck, is the one that is gonna win.

I daresay, most fishies are alts funded by Old classes/ cash shopped, either way.
