Patch DLed but it's not up to date. Can't log in.

My situation is a little different from corrupted file errors ect, I beleive the problem here lies soley with my PC.


It's getting a little old now and it's had hiccups in the past. At one stage it had a heart attack and the guys had to replace the service board.

I've only got a very basic knowledge of PCs here, but something is playing up and I can't figure out what. On occasion I get this really bad lag, not in game lag but PC lag where it takes a good 2-5, even 7 minutes to catch up to what is going on.

I've always found that closing and then re-opening a new client, or rebooting fixed this. I was in a BH just an hour before when this lag hit me, it'd catch up after a while then straight away everyone was standing there doing nothing again. It can drive you nuts.

I told them i'd reboot my system then come back, only my PC wouldn't restart. I'd get to the loading page with the windows logo but it would just keep "loading". So I ran it's self repair where it restores itself back to a point in time when it was operational.

After logging back in and opening the client, i'd try to log in but i'd get an error message "Client version out of date, please exit and update client."
However i've already downloaded the patch and it said I was on version 263.
I tried downloading the manual patch from the site which did nothing aswell.

I'm in a remote area of Australia so the best internet we've got is quite slow, if anything i'd like to avoid having to re download PWI where possible because it's horribly tedious.
