Is it worth it?

Is making a cleric worth it anymore?

I saw the other day a lvl 85? assassin take down a lvl 100 cleric and a lvl 100 archer.. they do so much damage, is it even worth making a squishy class anymore?

I'm talking about from a pvp persepective, not from a support perspective. Sure, its great and all that I could heal for instance, but I want to just kill **** at the end of the day..not support my **** off.

So yeah, are clerics still worth the time? Or will an assassin always just come by and two shot you even if you're 20 levels higher then them?

Half the game is skill. There are a lot of clerics who don't know what they are doing in PvP.

If played correctly, clerics are one of the best pkers imo with their kiting/survival skills.

On the Assassin note: im not gonna lie they are a pain, but i think that they are too new to judge their ability in PvP vs clerics since no one is used to dealing with them yet. (although imo they need to be tweaked a bit)

I personally survived and fought a Sin for a minute or 2 close to my level (i think?) but i admit i had to go back to sz when he went into stealth again..

anyways I believe it gets better at 9x in PvP. til then ur pretty squishy.

The main problem with sins is the fact ppl dont have practice dealing with em, once more n more surface and and ppl get more tw n pvp experience against them, they should be able to perform better. (The same thing happened when nixes came out and for a loong time they were a menace)

I second this statement. o__o; Just learn to play your cleric in PvP. I know there's a forum floating around here somewhere that tells you just about what to do. (Some of it was off IMO, but most of it was pretty accurate.)
I haven't actually fought a sin outside of duel so far but he was an easy 2hit at my lv, he didn't even get to touch me before I beat him. (Unless maybe his build was off? b:surrender) Just remember to keep distance from them and if they do stealth, pray to whomever your God is and they come out and attack during their long cool down. (Or so I hear the cooldown is long for it.)

with sins.. i personally think when they use their cloaking skill they shouldnt be able to use mana potions/ and avoid a mana charm. Atm they just stay cloaked without a time limit until our defense is down, then strike. All we can do is kite and run til they decide to hit us <_<

Alright, thanks everyone. I know they're squishy as hell but the evasive buffs they have and the being invisible part just seem really scary and kind of a turn off to making a squishy class. I guess I'll stick with it though. Never got a cleric past lvl 20.

I'll have to make good friends with friskee and solid I guess too.

This is where smarts come in. When they cloak stand and stack Iron Heart on yourself. When they come out, lets assume they try to stun lock you. Pop Absolute Domain from your genie, then sleep him - debuff him - triple spark -extreme poison - frenzy - wield thunder - goodnight vienna. UNLESS he has his Maze steps up, or his status effect evasion buff. In which case, he is smart. and you should probably toss up plume shell and pop an anti stun of your own and run away, because he will probably shadow escape as soon as his hp gets *****, which it will since he has LA, and he will try to start the stunlock process all over again.

PvP is such a situational thing though. Its hard to have a ultimate tactic to destroy them, best thing to do is just know your skills and keep your wits about you.

ANYWAY to answer OP's question, Is a Cleric a good option for PvP? yes it is.
Could there be better options if you just want to kill stuff? Yes there are.

thats exactly what i did word for word except the triple spark lol, just got done fighting someone else when the sin popped up and was low on chi x-x (and i use rainbow blessing instead of frenzy, gives me around 18% crit for a few hits)
