Mold drop-Was I right or wrong?

I got into a pick up group to do a BH69. It was an even wine cost and a random distribution. We went to Pole first so some could turn in and get Pyro. The barb decides he is going to pull and pulls Pole all the way back to the pond, right into the cleric, archer and veno. Cleric dies. She uses a GA and revives. Now I don't know what happened, but I think the cleric got too close to Pole and the aoe kills her again. The barb dies, the archer dies. I run Pole around a bit and then hit the pond. Everyone comes back and we start over. Finally, we kill Pole and he drops a Cape of Tauran Chieftain mold. I get it. Now the group wants me to give the mold to the cleric because she died twice and 6% is a lot to make up. WHAT? They threw such a fit that they would not go on unless I gave the cleric the mold. So after 5 minutes of arguing, I dropped out and went back to Arch. Is it fair to ask me to give up a 3~5mil mold because the cleric died from her own actions?

    No, it wasn't fair. they all knew what they were in for when they went into the BH. So if anyone died multiple times, it doesn't make them liable to have the most expensive thing to drop. basically what MagicHamsta said.

    Tbh, it sounds like you had absolutely nothing to do with the cleric dieing, so I don't see why it's you who should pay for the clerics death. Sounds like a cheap squad making one person pay, if anything everyone in the group should chip in and buy the cleric oracles if they really had "good intentions" there.

    You got taken advantage of =/ Random drops are fair, and it sucks the cleric lost exp, but making you alone pay 3-5m worth out your own items to make up for it? When no one else pays a thing? Sounds a bit off imo.

    I had a bad run myself recently when a squad made me tank pole. On 7.3k hp and 12k def I can do it easily enough, but the cleric had a minimum 5 second delay on purify, so despite pots and genie I died. So the cleric brings in his wife, another cleric. We go round 2. And obviously they're both leaving purify duty to each other and despite holding out the first debuffing with well timed sparking, marrow and ToP's, second time gets me. So they wc and find a barb. And here's the amusing thing here. I get asked to leave to make room for the barb. And forced out the squad by his wife. No wine fee repaid. I flat out refuse to tank pole now. Still remember the time I got forced to tank with a single lv72 cleric who didn't purify, died and the entire party adamantly told the entire faction BM's fail at tanking pole.

    Even if you was responsible for her death you don't owe her any drop. However; if you were responsible kindness would be buying her at least 5 oracles to try to make up for it a little. But if you pay for wine, random is random regardless of who does or does not die.

    If it's random distribution whoever gets it should be theirs. Now if I help a lower lvl player who needs it done in something like BH39 and I got the mold, I just give them the mold. Tons of players have helped me and gave me free stuff since I started playing this game. I got no problem returning the favor.

    I'd have done the same and left the group. Cleric dies by his/her fault and/or someone ELSE's fault... NOT MY PROBLEM. They can whine all they want, if it was shared at first, it remains shared.

    In other words: Keep the mold. You paid for your share, it's yours.

    You sir are a good man. I wish there were more like you in Dreamweaver. =/ Most times my squads end up like the OP's, and it royally sucks. >.<

    I don't see where you did anything wrong. Yes, the cleric died. No, it wasn't your fault. If anyone should give up something to the cleric it sounds like it'd be the barb.

    Personally, I probably would have kept the mold, but mailed the cleric a couple oracles just to be nice. I mean, what's a few hundred thousand compared to the value of that mold? If I made the offer and they kept whining, then I'd drop the squad.

    Were alot of them from the same faction? Or it wouldn't surprise me if some of them were a group of friends that have a little con going to pressure others to give up good drops. You were right to keep the mold , it's yours fair and square. There'd be people suiciding all over the place to get stuff if it went by their rules lol b:shocked

    I'm gonna assume that the cleric healed too early before the barb could have gotten complete agro control on pole.

    I would have done better and suggested...

    "Hey guys, it was no one's fault but I agree it sucks on the cleric. So... let's all chip in for the oracles together, to equal the exp lost! :D"

    Of course you get mega whined at then, but it's a perfectly fair offer. If they decline that you're perfectly fair to walk out and ditch them, since they're being just as "unfair" to the cleric as they claim you're being.

    i mean barb luring poleb:shocked if i ever tried that ,got badlucky and debuffed id be dead well atleast it wouldnt be to nice and i saw alot off non veno lurers getting debuffed so thats not my job my job is to stay alive, cancel boss atacks and keeping agro(note this is just my opinion)
    for the rest you got as much right for that mold as everyone else did
    grats on getting it is all i can say about it
    its impossible to always do the right thing we all make mistakes i am not different from that

    Barbs can lure pole. The cleric just needs to purify them quickly and start off with a stream of juvie.

    I don't think you were wrong to keep the mold. It's just the way random squads are.

    o-o' That's why when I do a instance run (mold hunt, bh, fb, tt whatever) my team always state for wich item they are running for, and pk enabled (for the case that someone just try a "ninja" (get somebody item and run away)).


    The cleric died because he sucks, I used to run this instance @ 70~73 and only one cleric is enough for healing, actualy it's safer just u2 than the whole team, or put another one just for aoe heal, but it's so easy to kill just barb+cleric alone or, a so well timed wb (werebeast) that can interrupt the low deffense attack.

    ah, the mold should be 100% yours,oh the cleric died? Get another cleric to ress him, no oracle or anything -.-' easy and simple.

    Any sympathy I may have had for the cleric evaporated when they lied about the exp loss. At the level you get BH69, it's only 1% per death.

    you should assume the barb pulled to far from the hall . in every bh/fb69 iv been in barbs stop at the end of the hall. right next to the pond is the safe zone everyone I've been with stands there.Pond would be right there,simply closer to jump in if barb dies and rest of squad less likely to die. if the barb pulled all the way to the pond , then that would be near/in our the safe zone and yes closer aoe hurts more.i hate pole and haven't done that fb/bh till tonight for our leaders alt. happy to say pole no longer nearly 1 shots me while im in bb(him being to close....). i didn't even have to bb this time xD. his aoe only take 1/4th of my hp @ lvl 82 now /sigh yes pretty high up there ._." but hey it works!


    but please don't cut her slack on anything , you roll a cleric (the squeshies classes) you better be prepard to die period. and obviously she was prepared. xD

    This. And -did I get it right?- the cleric had a GA when he first died. So it's just one time exp loss anyway. When playing a cleric, you have to live with the fact that you'll be the poor soul going back to town or waiting to be ressed by another cleric and always paying for GAs. People whining about this should consider rolling another class.
    Besides, the mold has absolutely nothing to do with dying.
    Instead of insisting to get it, he might as well could have demanded any other item from your inventory, but it was all about this special cape - We all know what it's worth, and since the other squad members seem to be friends, they possibly wanted to sell the item and split money.

    So the barb pulls the boss too far and kills people for it. Sounds like he's at fault. Also if the cleric had GAs, then no they shouldn't be losing 6%. If she died twice, and uses a GA once... sorry, that's only 1% lost. So their maths sound as fail as their PWI-playing abilities.

    When you pay part of a wine fee you are basically paying for any drops you pick up. It's like a contract; you and the squad agree that by everybody chipping in, the drops will be on random and anything you get you paid for through the wine fee.

    That cleric deserved nothing for the deaths. That squad deserved nothing short of a slap in the face for thinking they were even half way right with their suggestion.
    The generous thing to do would be offer to pay an oracle or two for the lost experience - compared to the money you'll make from the mold it's not even pocket change. But give the cleric the mold? Nu-uh.

    XD yeah that was my first time in there i was one of the clerics for my 69 second cleric didn't have a charm so them wanted to purify and extra healsomething about wasting potsb:surrender who knows, another one of those things to live with xD. the barb ended up moveing toward my bb to get him self in it when i had already made sure he would be.1 shotted in BB.this happened 1 other time so i gave up going in there at all.unless with faction members. Tonight was 1st time being back in there sense the ..OHT quest O_o for pole and nob. only needed IH and purify and was only cleric :) made me feel better about the place. "not a killer moment waiting to happenb:shocked"
