Musical instruments

What musical instruments (of virtually any kind) have you got/had or have you played? If you think about it, you probably have had quite a bit more experience than you initially thought. b:victory

I have got/have had:
  • Keyboard
  • Recorder
  • Acoustic guitar
  • Computer (computer music inc. MIDI)
  • Cow horn
  • Harmonica
  • Hand made 'bongo drum' with real leather I crafted at school once
  • A few bells here and there
  • A few whistles (inc. the fruity pops candy whistle thing b:chuckle)
  • Etc....

Instruments that I have played to any degree (even if merely touched) that aren't in the above list:
  • Piano
  • Xylophone
  • Woodblock
  • Triangle
  • Numerous small hand drums
  • Cymbols
  • Shaker
  • Tubular bells
  • Timpani
  • Chimes
  • Agogo
  • Etc.... (several more I can't remember right now)

So, what musical instrument experiences have you had? I bet none of you have had absolutely none. b:victory

    I have gotten my hands on
    Piano
    Cello
    Clarinet
    Recorder
    Triangle thing
    Xylophone
    Guitar

    I just am good on guitar lol.

    The only instrument I played for any real length of time was violin. But there was also recorder lessons in elementary school, and I used to play around with a piano and some bells from time to time. I think I also used to own a harmonica, but I never really tried playing it.

    Play on a regular basis: Piano (just got a 90 on my grade 10 exam b:victory), Guitar, Bass, Drums, Saxophone

    Used to play well: Trumpet, Trombone, Violin, Cello

    Shouldn't include on this list: Elementary school recorder, Ocarina

    Ive played the plastic ruler, guitar, piano and computer and some random stuff
    Yeah plastic ruler music ftw.

    (put the ruler flat on a desk so a bit of it is hanging in the air and flick the ruler. Then move the ruler back on forth on the desk to make music. Ive learnt to play the super mario theme on a plastic ruler =D)

    I've played...

    - Piano (6 years of classsical and popular music private lessons)
    - Drums (a year in school band + my own defunct cover band)
    - Random percussions (along with drums)
    - Alto sax (school band, 4 years)
    - Recorder (mandatory for 7th and 8th grade according to our school board *facepalm*...)
    - Accoustic Guitar (though I highly suck at guitar... and just like recorder, not taken up by choice)

    ukelele - school

    would love to learn the violin one of these days...maybe when i retire i'll take it up.

    Just in like... 4th grade, I played the Clarinet... I was the best in my class. Lol. b:laugh

    I tried to avoid this thread, but I can't deny my nature

    I have played:
    Bass clarinet
    Bass guitar
    Lots of different drums and a drumset

    I'm currently teaching myself Ukelele because it's easy to carry around and you can play wherever you like!

    @JackJohnson: I'm very glad you didn't succeed in making Ukeleles into a popular sensation. If they started selling them at Hot Topic I would have to quit even though I genuinely like them!

    Bob La Cuillere (AAAH BAD FRENCH KILLS ME), AKA "Bob The Spoon". He's a reg at Quebec City's "Grand Rire Bleu" (Big Blue Laugh - televised annual humor show series). He's a freaking riot on stage... and he makes any kind of spoon fun. This guy even used shovels as musical spoons... gonna try to find a vid of that.

    Does the human voice count as an instrument? I took choir all throughout high school. Our sports teams may have stunk, but our performing arts groups rocked!

    My sister got an ocarina for Christmas and is always playing it(guess which game inspired her to get it). I've never had much patience when it comes to musical instruments. Besides, I prefer singing.

    Yes, anything that produces audible (to humans) sound waves that can be played to make music is an musical instrument.
