    yes it would be nice to have actual "sea creatures" as mounts, but unfortunately, the "wings" have been implemented and change would be impractical.

    In my opinion, the "wings" make sense. Think of deep sea creatures, they usually emit bright glowing colors in beautiful patterns which are capable of the full spectrum of color. This is what the majority of the "wings" are supposed to represent.
