**** Flying, I can SWIM

So I really really really don't like the tideborn wings. And I'm way too cheap to save up for a fancy pair from the catshop.

While looking at the world map today, I noticed that pretty much every major city save for maybe Town of Arrivals and Thousand Streams is connected by rivers.

I bumped my Tideform up to level two, and did some quick math.

Level Two Tideform gives you +32% swimspeed. Psychics move at 4.8 m/s
4.8 + 32% = 6.336 m/s

Starter wings give +0.5 flyspeed unless you haste, which is +2.5.
Normal Fly is 5.3 m/s, Hasted Fly is 7.3 m/s (which can become expensive with chi stones), and Swimming Speed is 6.3 m/s (level 2 tideform) at the low cost of coin and spirit which can be easily made grinding.

All I gotta say is: **** flying, I'm using the rivers as highways.

    rivers go around cities... flying gets u there in a straight line

    didnt u notice swim speed is lower than walk speed,,,,,,,there is a reduce of speed underwater...get a pet and walk rly fast

    the slowest level 11 land mount goes faster than the fastestest non-accelerated flier...

    you can't compare things that are on the ground and things that are in air

    you don't get hit by random mobs if you fly at 60+ altitude

    This, and flying is alot safer to go afk then when swimming or running on the ground

    For now I'm going with swimming, mostly because I don't have to duck and dodge every single stupid aggro mob when I don't feel like spending money to teleport. Those wings are hard to get though - either pay 20 bucks for the fast ones, wait for lvl 30 for the crappy ones, or find someone who'll sell you the level 10 tideborn wings for less than like...8 million. >_< Which is actually impossible.

    Yeah, I've bumped up my Tideform to level 5 now, (+50% Swim Speed) and it's a surprisingly fast way to travel. Not a whole lot going on for scenery, though =p

    I have mine up to 60 some percent, it's definitely fast in the water, only I'm kinda land locked at the moment doing stuff around Sundown Town, and seeing how it is located in the "nosebleed" section of the map, (50+ meters), not much tributary access. b:nosebleed

    suprisingly more then every1 tlkin about the math involved in working it out... it was hurting my brain reading it LOL

    OP does know base flying speed is 5m/s for everyone right?

    So yea, free wings give you 5,5m/s speed dude.

    Other than that, enjoy having to steer your way through the rivers and arive a few mins earlier, while I set to fly and go grab a snack

    Maybe but tideform cost only the price of lvling the skill, not everyone is rich enough to buy a fast flying mount remember that b:chuckle
