Game Doesn't Switch Out

Could others try this if you haven't already? This game doesn't seem to tab out to Windows properly. This is very important because I often wish to check forums, use voice applications etc., which requires Alt-Tabbing. The game will not work after switching. Any click of the mouse anywhere in the game screen will bring the Windows desktop to the front, so it's unplayable. The only solution I've found is to kill the application from the Task Manager and restart the game.

I would think that people using X-Fire, Skype, Ventrilo, or Teamspeak would have brought this up already. Please inform me if this isn't happening for you so I can investigate more localized solutions.

    Try installing the East-Asian language packs.

    This has been known to happen often with full-screen players. If you use windowed mode, of course it doesn't happen at all but I'm assuming you prefer to use full-screen. At least that's a fix for it if you wouldn't mind it windowed.

    The problem with that is the windowed resolution has to be lower than the full screen resolution and since LCD monitors have only one native resolution, everything other than that looks very crappy.

    I must confess, I'm not entirely sure why it fixes the problem, but it does work for most users with this issue.

    I would suggest running in windowed mode. I was experencing the same issue until I switched to running in windowed mode.

    But, the east asian pack may resolve the issue because of the fact that the majority of the files for PWI are in chinese and it allows Windows to locate the required files properly.

    the game was WRITTEN in chinese, and many of the files are still in their original names (the chinese ones) so certain PCs have a hard time using these files. that is what it has to do with it

    edit: seems it won't let my paste names in chinese for some reason..
    edit2: works for urls though.. (they just link to yahoo.com)

    but point is, there are files written lie this, and some with chinese internals.

    I'd like to point out that this does NOT get fixed by installing east asian language packs. I used to play this like a year ago. At that time i had NO PROBLEM alt-tabbing in and out to look things up. Since then i haven't changed a THING on my computer. I recently started playing again, it hasnt' been more then a month. But I'm having this problem as well. So is EVERY PERSON in my faction. I went to install the east asian packs just now, and it seems XP automatically does that. But i reinstalled them anyway and every other one there is to boot. Loaded the game, logged on, then alt tabbed out and back in a few seconds later and bam... crashed. Error window came up (by the way last time i tried to report something with that error window it wouldn't even connect to send my report, and i had used it a couple times before to send reports recently just fine.)

    Something's wrong with the game that wasn't a year ago. Please figure this out and get it fixed. Out of all the bugs in the game this is probably one of the worst. I hate playing in window mode, things are a little fuzzy. Fullscreen looks so much better. Yet I can't alt tab out to look up things w/o risking a crash.

    There's two other things i'd like to mention.

    2) The other thing is something that happened just before maintenence Tuesday the 19th. I was on my new veno, and right before we got booted for maintenence i went to the North arch blacksmith. I sold to the npc all the useless drops i had on me from mobs, looked at the amount of coin i had (one million 800 thousand something in coin. almost 1.9 mil). After maintenence I logged back on. To my surprise i had barely 1.7 mil (I was missing MONEY!@!@!) and half the junk i had SOLD was BACK in my inventory!! WTF?!?!

    If you did it literally right before the server shut down, as you said, it's likely that it happened in the few seconds between the last "save" and the time the server actually shut down. If that's the case, this should be no big deal, and you can simply vendor the items again and have the coin. If something was legitimately lost, please submit a ticket to customer support.

    Also, please stop cross-posting this to the bug report thread, as that thread is specifically for reporting new bugs, not for making duplicate posts.

    So you're the one that keeps deleting my post? I was under the impression these WERE new bugs, especially since i READ the entire bug thread and no one mentioned any of it (unless i was blind and missed it). That WHY i posted it in there as well. For one, no one responded on this thread, and second i figured you all would see it easier if it was in the STICKIED bug thread. If you're going to delete people's posts... send them a friggin message or something (u can send private messages on this forum right? never looked). I wouldnt' have kept checking this and re-posting that every night (if it was gone) if i had known u actually saw this post.

    As far as the stuff going awry JUST b4 maintenence.... I didnt' have that much pop back in my inventory to make up for the 100-150k that vanished. It was only about 15k worth of stuff that was back in my inventory. But i don't really care about the money, wasn't much... i can cover that easy. Just throwing out a warning for everyone not to do any trades or anything just b4 maintenence.

    I'd like to confirm since the last maintenence, game doesnt' crash anymore alt tabbing or using Ctrl F9. Also the problem with mobs repopping and auto attacking from REALLY far out of aggro range, as well as veno pets randomly running past 15 mobs to hit another mob (one so far i couldn't even SEND my pet at it normally) after killing one is fixed. I dont' know if u all "ninja" fixed it (cause there's nothing i saw in the patch notes, i think), or something u did just happened to fix it all, but the game's working normally now. Also mobs that used to aggro a year ago when i played, and didn't anymore since the new expansion... now aggro again. Such as the Ghouls outside west arch, or the wolves at the Mines.

    I am hearing another problem though, even though no one i KNOW in-game is having it. People are saying they're crashing now when they try to set up cat shops lol


    ***EDIT**** Strike what i said about veno pets going off on their own getting fixed. My friend in faction was on veno last night, her pet went off after mobs like 5x in a row. Mobs that're nowhere NEAR close enough to aggro, werent' attacking her or her pet, or not even close enough to even SEND the pet at it. The pet just went around hitting mob after mob like it was on crack. Same thing happened to my Guardian last week, went after like 10 skeles around Bloodraged Cadaver on it's own like it had a score to settle or something. My walker's done it. My skatefish (flying) MIGHT have done it not sure. now that i think about it.. i have't seen or heard of NON-Tideborn area pets doing this.
