I am currently level 76 (avatar is glitched at 52..) and I am going to get a Broad Land at level 85 for sure. I will also get it to at least +5
I'm wondering if that +5 BroadLand will last me to 95, or does a +5 Binding Radiance at 90 become more powerfull than the BroadLand.
plz and thakn you

Weapon Comparison for 70+
Weapon Comparison for 95+
Elenacostel's done two very nice in-depth analyses here. Broad Land's DPS is superior by a fair margin. Blinding Radiance has a slightly higher DPH, but lacks the Unrelenting proc. Broad Land also benefits more from -interval gear. Finally, Elite arrows (+1% crit) are better than Elite bolts (+10% accuracy).0 -
thank you for the links, but which one do you think is better for PvP?
I'm wondering if the higher base attack of the xbow will be better for PvP, since attack speed doesn't change skill casting.0 -

Is your server heavily populated by HAs? If so I recommend the crossbow. Not only will the crossbow exhibit the ability to spike crit and kill, it also does not have a -phys def proc like the Broadland does.
AA or LA dominant server means a Broadland will benefit most as you auto fire those targets and the debuff matters little.0 -
Well, the DPH is nearly equal, about 100 damage difference. That's an average of 25 damage difference in PvP, which is insignificant. The slight crit difference is made up for by Elite arrows. Despite crossbows naturally having a higher damage range, the fact that the Broad Land has a +max damage mod, and the Blinding Radiance has a straight +damage mod, they wind up with similar attack strength.
It basically comes down to the proc on the Broad Land. Either it'll help you kill your target, or it'll get you killed with the lowered defense. Possibly both.0 -
hmm, well I am more of an xbow person but the reputation behind the might "Broad Land" seems to be greater than Binding Radiance.
This also confuses me because if I'm going to spend 30m on a bow, I'd want it to last longer than 5 levels (depending on how long 85-90 takes).
I'm wondering if I should just get somthing cheaper like a SoulSmasher or a Squall or a Chained jail and use it until 90, then use a lot of money on my Binding Radiance.0 -

Word of advice: do not get a Squall.
85-90 is 42.8mil exp which if you do all your dailies will take about 6weeks. This does not even count the FCC/RB runs you might participate in not to mention fishing in the Sea of Isolation if you plan to grind with a miji/eso. It is a fairly quick journey.0 -
Maybe i'll just get the Broad Land, and also a Binding Radiance at 90 and change it out when the situation arises lol.
Thank you for the advice.0 -
Broad Land can be resold. Soulsmasher can't, and Returning Squall just kinda sucks. It costs more than a Soulsmasher, is also auto-bind, and does less damage.0

whats the word on "Fragrance of moon"? Is it horribly worse than BroadLand in PvP?0 -

I wouldn't go as far as saying it's horribly worse. But as far as I'm concerned, it's not worth the effort. Why settle for the xbow if you can get the bow with the sign?0 -
Broad Land's got slightly higher average damage per hit, only a tiny bit less maximum damage per hit, and it fires faster.
Though according to PWdatabase, there's a version of Fragrance of Moon called Everfragrance that is actually a drop. I've seen a few of the other gold drop weapons (Silverrain and Gatherstorm) in the Auction House, so it's possible you can get one for fairly cheap.0 -
Fragrance of moon's stats make it less superior to Blinding Radiance in terms of damage output.0

Um, what? "Less superior" implies that it's still better than BR, just not as much. Which isn't true. Hope you were looking for "inferior".If you disregard what I say because of who I am or because of the contents of what I said, you are a fool.
Everyone wants to be different, but when you're different you wish you were normal.0 -

I believe the idea is to use Broad Land until level 95 or level 99/100, skipping Blinding Radiance entirely.
Also, in terms of planning ahead, Blinding Radiance decomposes into Constellation: Fall, an excellent crossbow at level 99. You may want to take that into account in your decision-making.0 -

What Elena said, but just depends on your playing style. IMO Broadland is sexy box, and Blinding Radiance is not your typical eye candy b:laugh0
