I have heard the first nirvana gear is now being made. I was wondering if anyone can confirm if sockets / refine from the TT or lunar gear is preserved. Also does anyone know the set bonuses for Nirvana gear if any? I am assuming the lunar and tt variants can't be mixed if you want the set bonuses?

Anyone our there yet in a position to confirm?

The first piece of Nirvana gear was crafted over 2 weeks ago by Elayne on Lost City.

Nirvana gear has a 80% chance to craft with 3 sockets, 10% with 2 and 10% with 4.

Sockets, Refines and even Shards may be preserved if PWI brings Chienkun stones into the game. They are currently not available, so right now, refines and shards are not transferable. With the addition of Nirvana gear, these stones will probably be made available at some time in the near future, as they would make a boatload off people converting their 95/99 gears.

So far set bonuses have not been posted anywhere that I am aware of.

Well said....I would like to add though that GM's have stated on these forums that so far there is no intention of bringing the Chienkun Stones into the game.

I personally am not sure what I am going to do, but I am still (and others) are farming Nirvana and a few should have a first recast sooner then later. We are doing these as individuals and sharing the mats per run (multiple runs depending). Many of us have stated that more likely then not, we would take the risk. Besides, it is not like it does not warn you before you craft it about the transferring and the need for the Chienkun Stones. So no one can complain too much and those farming solo/individually (as in not a guild system) have the time to wait it out.

so in other words it might be safer just to save up all the stones for now maybe?

But tbh I know some that are. However, with the time it takes to farm them (when not having a guild farm one piece), you have time imo.

Yes, they stated that, but that's old news. With the addition of this new expansion, they'll probably end up bringing them out. It's not just one stone or two you would need to buy. Well, it's going to be relatively easy for dedicated people to get a piece of armor (including quench and recasts), but it does take a whole lot of runs. The weapon is something that won't be seen for at least a few months because the drop rate on those crystals just plain sucks.

looking at the price these stones were actually sold in catshops (1M+), im starting to wonder if the time, charm, GA used to obtain like 100 stones in 100+runs are more expensive than compared to just buying them outright from other players

Nuuuuuu...do not take a charm in there....especially MP. I learned in my first few runs that one. b:surrender

<---- 2 MP Plats in 6 runs. Now I only have a Charm on IF it is left over from war and even then the Event pots can help with the ticks...kind of

Also it mentions this:

I get the impression from that the original idea was to let you recast your items without materials for the extra dmg and look, but lose all the adds/refines and then have to use the dropped stones if you wanted to carry over refines etc.

But it seems the whole system has been changed to how it is now ( having to use stones and still losing refines ).

Im sure cynical people will post their thoughts as to why b:shutup

It would be nice for a GM to post how the system works, rather than players having to try by trial and error.

It would seem that you need the stones to keep refines, sockets and shards. There is a space for adding these Chienkun stones when you create or quench your items. However, I'm not sure if they're needed just to create, or if they're also needed in the quench and reforge stages as well as I didn't observe the dialogue boxes in the process of creation/quench/reforge.

When you go to refine it will "prompt" you and essentially "warn" you. At that point it is up to the individual player as to what they decide to do. It is not like you have NO warning for it and therefore cannot make a justified claim as to being mislead imo. If you see the "prompts," I would suggest being 100% sure you want to upgrade before doing it...At least for now.....

It is just a hard pill to shallow IF you would be losing the refine and socket (even if the % for sockets are not horrible and getting 2 sockets with 10% chance would just be horrible luck)

Oddly +1 refine will transfer, but anything higher will not. 5 or 6 reforging attempts and all came out with 3 sockets.

Yup....from what I have been able to research this is not news to me as it may be to other people. It all comes down to what is one willing to do for the upgrade?

And 3 sockets....with 80% chance I would hope so..knowing my luck though b:surrenderb:sad

I have to say though that for the Grade and upgrade, I know quite a few that would not have an issue refining their gear again to +5-+6...as it is rather easy to do. Anything above that though.....b:surrender

The 2nd Boss in Nirvana will DRAIN your MP!! Literally like a constant tick. Also, since the Cleric's role is mainly in RB, you do not have too much of a charm need as pots can do nicely. There are only about 1-2 bosses total that can just eat your charm bc of the (1) mana drain and (2) using Chromatic Heal, which Sage version takes 1800 mana to cast and kills when you need to spam it. Peachy makes NO comparison and is very easy to do without a charm.

And trust me...I like you my charms!! But it is just not worth it if running multiple runs of Nirvana.

I believe it works only when you have the nirvana recast item and you are "rerolling" the stats.

The major recast (TT/LG-> N, NG13-> NG15) will erase all refines+sockets unless those stones are introduced to the Boutique.

Not sure on the accuracy and validity in that, but I read that from a few others and on top of that it seems to be the most logical.

This just came out on the Chinese server:

The first three charts are for weapons.

This first chart shows the number of Chienkun stones needed for different levels of refinement:



This second chart shows the number of Chienkun stones needed for different levels of gems imbued:




This third charts shows the number of Chienkun stones needed for different grades of weapon and how many socket they have. The second column is for 1 socket, the third column is for 2 sockets.



This last chart is for armor pieces. First column shows the different grades, the next four are for number of sockets.




I hope I am understanding this correctly, but it sounds like for the first recast, you take the number of stones you need and multiply by 0.4; for the second recast (Quench), you take the number of stones you need and multiply by 0.6.

So take a grade 13 Dragonhunt with 2 sockets, +10 and 2 Garnet Gems for example, the total number of stones you need to keep everything will be:

Grade 13 with 2 sockets: 106 stones
+10: 297 stones
2 Garnet Gems: 2x40 or 40 (not too clear which, but 2x sounds logical) 80 stones

Total: 483 stones for BOTH RECASTS.

Then again what we get might be completely different :P

I made a mistake in the above calculation. It should be the grade of the nirvana weapon (G15), not the weapon you are converting from (G13). So instead of 106 stones for 2 sockets, it should be 213 stones.

The chienkun stones sell for 4 gold 50 silver for a pack of 10. So if I want to keep a 2-socket dragonhunt refined to +10 it would cost me around 217 gold?

I suppose it's not horrible given how much that weapon would cost, but it's still a pretty steep price.

Hopefully they cheapen the price for when it releases to PWI

I don't think that anyone would have much problem with paying 200-300 gold to keep refines that would normally cost 1200-1500 gold (probably a little less, but I haven't done the math).

Getting 2 +10 orbs was only 150 gold :<

Refinement transfer does not compare well at all with the +10 orb sale.

They just implemented something new, you can now enter PoN at lvl 100, or if you have 100 characters, so.....you are getting fairly close to the 2nd option, just a few more lowbies and you can get in there and farm it yourself.

2 +10 orbs will only get you from +8 to +10... What about getting it to +8 normally? I think these stones fair better than the +10 orb sale.

After a lot of researching and browsing other sites, my guess is the 3rd chart stone requirement was removed. So to transfer refines you only look at the 1st chart, and to transfer gems you only look at the 2nd chart.

However the 3rd chart might come into play for purposes of nirvana weapons, but for all other weapons those are the only ones you need to look at.

Also if you bind a weapon, then it becomes impossible to transfer refines to an unbound weapon. So binding a +10 wep means that +10 refine is stuck to you, forever.
