Fox Form Skills based on mp or str?

I just switched to Raging Tides. I used to be a Light Armor & thought it was pretty good, but been thinking about going Arcane.

But! I've been wondering, are fox form skills based on your Mp, or your Str? The skills say based on Physical Damage but I'm still curious since Assassin's physical attack is based on their Dex not Str. (If you don't believe me press C in game & hold your mouse over it. >_> Don't wanna attract too many Sin trolls...)

If it's based on your Str I'm thinking I should be a LA veno again, because I used fox form a lot during tw & other random times. Then I think I could go arcane, have more Mp to heal my pet, & then use only Fox Form & Amplify Damage.

    Veno melee damage is based on str (and melee mastery).

    However, unless you go heavy, your str is not going to be high enough for you to rely on regular attacks. Your melee damage will be maximized by spamming Leech, Befuddling Mist, Stunning Blow, and Fox Wallop. The majority of your damage will thus be from the fixed damage portion of those skills, not from str.

    You will have to decide between doing slightly more damage with those skills as a light build, and having a greater mana pool so you can spam those skills for longer as an arcane build.

    A heavy build will, after about level 70, have enough str that she does more damage from regular attacks than if she spams those skills. So heavies don't have to deal with mana management in fox form like light and arcane do.

    That's almost true. I prefer not to use Wallop or Stunning since they drain chi quite fast. A combo of Mist, Leech, and Demon spark maximizes my damage in Fox Form. I've hit 15k-20k in Fox as a Arcane wearer.
