Hmph...I've seen both sides of the Anniversary Pack arguments...and quite honestly...I've pulled a 1984, tried to rebel against the communist regime that is PWE's Anniversary Packs, failed horribly, was sent to a reeducation center, and now...I love Anni Packs.

For those who do not get the above reference, you need to read MOAR George Orwell.
    Lmao

On a serious note, Anniversary packs should just be made permanent. They've already effected the game so much that it will only be detrimental for them to be gone for too long.

So instead of PWI completing all aspects of the game (FF/lunar,other dungeons) as it should've been months ago, you're saying this game should be completely pay to play, as in, some gears only obtainable by shopping with real money and thus giving total control over pvp to payers?
    Amazing logic...

Every day these failure gambling packs are in boutique, the more unbalanced the game gets. If you want to help the game and not look like a person that wants to buy themselves into easy mode, start getting on PWE's face about fixing the game.

the damage is already done keeping the anni packs just wont unballance it even more since there will be people who can never obtain those gears since its waaaay to much work without anni packs

What you fail to mention is the fact that the tokens have also set a new standard by creating a very easy source for flawless shards, socket stones, chips, apoc pages, other skillbook pages, etc.

Now I don't know about you, but I was always impressed when I saw someone sharded with full flawless before the packs came out, and now I see lvl 70, 80 players throwing them all over their gears like it's candy. The availability of previously VERY rare skillbooks have shot up too. The first people who were able to take advantage of the annipacks were the people who had the money to invest. The majority of the playerbase caught on later, and because the packs keep coming back, know what to expect, and what to save up for.

Now I'm 100% in agreement that the endgame gear shouldn't have been in there in the first place, but the sad thing is that it has set a new standard for "competitiveness", and people are so sick of this on and off again cycle, that they figure it would be best to just stick them in there permanently. If they were to be in cash shop forever, it would give the "common" player time to farm/grind/save up for whatever they wanted.

The ones who still want to put in some work for their gears can also benefit from packs too.

i read your post and i understand what you say'
sure it should have been that people farmed everything but its still possible to do it even with the annipacks and i know pvp is purely for cashshoppers now but heck accept it its not gonna change anyway
but if the anni packs are here any good merchanter can get those items eventually to ,without them however not

but as i read in previous posts off you i can tell you will hate anni packs no matter what arguments i or anyone else gives(and i stil have lots off them) but if you really wanna argue with me about this matter do it with pms i dont wanna ruin this thread

Every day these failure gambling packs are in boutique, the more unbalanced the game gets. If you want to help the game and not look like a person that wants to buy themselves into easy mode, start getting on PWE's face about fixing the game.

The issue is that the packs have already done their damage. People have thousands upon thousands of tokens - which they use to maximise their profits or their gear depending. When you take the packs away, the game actually gains more things to cause an imbalance then when you have the packs around.

For example, tokens are the cheapest way to get immaculates. Make a bunch of flawless and off you go! Voila, immaculate shards out the **** for - provided the packs are out - very little coin. Tokens sell for 15k when packs are out and jump up easily to about 25k at least once packs are gone. The value of coin has already been destroyed thanks to other cash shop items, and items like the Chest of Coins that drops in FC - a lot of things are already very expensive to buy.

Of course, some prices have dropped rather than risen, but depending on where you are in the game this isn't necessarily something that will help you.

Even with the drop rate of the anni packs edited (I overheard they were anyway, I could just be wrong) people were still winning potential end-game gear, and at this stage in the game... well, quite simply, the damage has already been done. Removing the packs permanently won't "fix" anything, it won't "save" the game. Just like removing them for a limited time doesn't "fix" anything or "save" the game. For all we know, anni packs might never come back now. Doesn't mean this game is suddenly going to improve once they're gone.

Noone in the Entire thread (which is shocking) seems to mention where the REAL damage from the Anni Packs comes from. No its not the endgame gear or tokens. Seriously the reason people keep getting more and more money, inflating the economy & thus raising gold prices as well, is the blasted Bank Notes. Yes, lets have a pack which is constantly injecting boatloads of game coin into the game economy 10 million at a time. We all know the major problem with the economy is the over-abundance of currency creating a spiralling out of control infaltionary problem.

Honestly, keep the packs permanent or remove them, i dont care, just remove the damn bank notes from the best token trade-in menu!

BREAKING NEWS: Following recent intel reports, The Resistance launched a full-scale attack on The Anny Pack factory this morning. The battle was won and it seemed like total victory for The Resistance, but in a shocking turn of events, it was realized that the factory that was annihilated was not The Anny Pack Factory. In a successful attempt to confuse The Resistance, PWE disguised The Bug Repair Factory as The Anny Pack Factory. Not knowing beforehand, the attack was given the green light. After it was discovered that the wrong factory was hit, The Resistance checked for survivors. However, as no shock to anyone, the factory that was set up to fix in-game bugs had no employees working in it. Once the media was aware of the situation, every channel on the television was flooded with the news. Channel 13 news reported that a PWE Official Spokesperson was not available for comment. More information will be shared once it is revealed as we continue to follow this up-to-the-minute coverage. Now, for some commercials.

On DW at least, In the past when certain CS'ers who spent insane amount of $$$ on anni packs and overflowed the market with tokens and end-game gear that was previously unattainable creating a huge gap between the players. And so when the packs originally came out and the people who were prepared and had the coin in-game to invest in buying tokens and also those that got very lucky and bought their end-game gear cheap from noobs with cash that didn't know what it really was worth at the time.
And since the gear that heavenrage boots, helm of holy punishment, wing trophy etc are all traded in for. Are all bound items that cannot be resold and put back into the market thus it has created a huge gap between the gear of the players so unless you were there from the start it now takes tons more time and merchanting to earn millions of coin to buy pack-gear that only gets more expensive when anni packs are not around.
The fluctuation of token prices and all the things you can trade for them is annoying as hell one day you have 16k tokens then once packs are removed 25k.
Some things may become cheaper but that also means alot of things become worthless to sell yet the pack gear is just as expensive. The drop in TT mats prices after the x2 event was instantly noticable because the demand goes down and people have trouble selling it when most don't need it anymore, while nirvana mats are going to be sky-high at start.

The anni packs...will someday be back because that boutique agent is there for a reason and it would be impossible for the players that didn't get their pack gear and skillbooks to acquire it leaving one hell of a gap to compete with without CS'ing.
In any case the economy will never be left alone to be stable because PWI will do everything they can to milk their players for as much $$$ as they can.

Since it seems everyone's just going crazy for the tokens, why shouldn't there just be a "lucky pack" that gives some random amount of tokens(between 15-30), along with the slight chance of getting a Token of Best luck? I mean, the 'anniversary' in Anniversary Pack wore out it's welcome by the third week =.= Personally, I have a love-hate relationship with the packs, as teles and Apoc pages are cheaper, but at the same time, I also hate it cause gold prices could be lower, and the devs know how greedy the player base can be(namely the CSers) and manipulate us to their advantage like a supermodel amongst a bunch of college guys at a party.

Edit: If the only way you can make money is to buy the anni. packs with real money then...it sucks to be you.

honestly, i've been around for so damn long, and listened to all these frelling people QQ so long about it, i honestly could care less now.... hell, i can drop 200-300$ a month on annipacks alone if i so chose, but unfortunately, i have other things i like spending my money on :)
