PvP on RT in the future?

From what I've been seeing around since I started playing this server, with a lot of people coming over from PvP servers Harshlands and Lost City, this server has a lot of "aggressive" PKing going on for being such a new PvE server. What makes me curious though and interested to hear other people's opinions is that the server where I played for the longest time, Dreamweaver, started off faintly like this ("KOS", SP Camping, etc etc) until the top PKing faction who tried to change DW into a RPK server fell apart not too long after the server started (can't remember the exact time, but it was while the map still had non-city PvE lands) and most of their members joined a large faction on their KOS List. That also signaled the end of DW PKing b:shutup

So while we have people trying to set up these things - which are working at the moment, since a lot of people are done oracling/leveling/are bored that go white name - what do you guys think will happen in the future? I've already seen people referring to this server as a "PvP server, and if you don't want to go white name go to a PvE server" (confusing this server, or trying to be funny?) and what I think is that once there starts to be serious TWs going on, everyone (should) be trying to level instead of spending hours at Orchid Temple PKing. However, that is just my opinion, and being a frequent PKer on Dreamweaver, I have nothing against going white name once in a while and - what I'd like to know is what other people think of this; will this server give up its PKing to focus more on TW, halting the factions that want to PK, or will there still be a large amount of people going around white name and keep up the atmosphere of the server now in several months time?

Exactly what happened on Dreamweaver...only ones that have been PKing for the longest time are 90+, with a few odd 70 and 80s thrown in. b:chuckle

Just hope and pray the future of pvp in RT won't be the same as HL.. When HL opened it had an active pvp everywhere. As the server got older it started dying, then when grinding inside instances got popular it died down even more..

It's already dying. A couple weeks ago I could go to Orchid Temple, Secret Passage, Hidden Orchid, Silver Pool etc. and find people to PK.


Now I just fly around looking for the occasional white name.

Even though the group pvp in HL dropped the pk is still active, everywhere u go u will find white names to kill nd those white names call their mothers, fathers nd family to kill u, so dont compare the pvp in HL with the pvp in RT cuz its going jus too far since RT is a pve server even though theres a good ammount of pk going on. I guess u havent been playing in HL
Now on-topic, every servers r like this pk wise in the beginning nd then it goes back to normal. People will start focusing more on leveling for pvp-tw nd will take less time to pvp, thats y pvp servers r better for pvp minded players cuz everything above lvl30 is white nd its easier to find pvp xD Perhaps the pvp in here will b more active then other pve servers(who knows) but will never b like in a pvp server

Been playing the server since opening day, and since the days of pend+LS i never had a real pvp fight again on that server..

You leave for 3 months and then everybody is hitting their 100s.. So much pvp must be going on b:surrender

yeah this server's PK action is gonna be gone soon its already starting to get deserted in sp i was full pk the other week LOTS of PK everwhere but its dying now and the only reason this server is gonna die in PK is cause of all the oracling going on all the non oraclers including me will stop pking since we wont stand a chance and there wont be any point for me to just go out there and get cut through my charm im going blue again ill be back on pking once i catch up with the oraclers which will be at like 90's and prolly lot of other ppl will start pking again at 90. so yeah about the pvp on this server pvp will be mostly tw's

One only needs to look at World Chat, the "one-shot" taunts, the questioning of said PKer's ability to count, the retorts declining from an already dangerously low intelligence level as the world chats progress, finally ending in a call-out for a 1v1 which both parties will claim the other avoided.

You might see me shout on occaision. "PvP on a PvE server is srs bsns."

Most people know I love me some PK. I usually find world chat arguments to be entertaining. But this server has a lot of people from PvP servers I guess, where it's acceptable to throw tantrums in world chat on an hourly basis. I don't know, it's rather annoying that these children can't accept the responsibility of being PK'd, dropping items, getting ganked, whatever.

Newsflash: PvP is "Free-for-All" AKA FFA. A 1v1 is called a "duel" AKA waste of time. Quit crying about ganks. If you had more friends, you wouldn't complain. It's part of the game.

I agree completely. I actually find great entertainment in watching people acting like jackasses on WC lol. Something to read while I'm flying from quest to quest.

But yea the server is getting boring. I thinkg PvP dying is a natural process that occurs on all servers, oracles just sped that process up.

Even if you don't count the oracles people are still leveling and pvp isn't for everyone now. Remember when you could PvP at level 30? 40? 50? I do, try to do PvP at level 30 now, enjoy getting one shot.


I remain white named and have no intentions of going blue.

PvP was so fun at lower levels because no one invested like anything into their gear and such. Now its all about getting to 89 or w/e to be the most epic when large scale PvP TW's come rolling along. PvP has died down because people are focused on bigger things and not just having daily fun but also being factors...this means PvP will not be big again until when a ton of people are 90+ and hella bored lol.

my charm got ***** with all the gankings <.< then my repair bills started being a prob (i use lock not GA's) and then i got bored of being 20 lvl's lower than the ones pking and still HA's couldnt be able to kill me 1v1 but i still get pwned by arcanes higher lvl so yeah effectively i went blue bye bye pk it was fun xD

Yea PvP can be costly sometimes.


I just spent a good amount of time fighting Lee and Nino at silver pool with a couple of guildies. It was pretty fun even though I wasn't charmed I still did pretty good. After a few minutes I ran out of MP pots and coins so I just flew around killing the random cleric that was helping Nino and Lee and one-shotting Nino.
