I have two flying mounts. Both I upgraded to 3/6. One is the Redback Skymanta and the other is the Swiftshadow.

I use the Redback in situations where the Swiftshadow's wings and body size make it harder for me to see/target something I am after.

I had thought about buying the Hellfire Drake but decided not to as I really like the look of my Swiftshadow (I have a thing for Raptors). Looked at the Dragonfly and said to myself.. that is a cool looking mount, but it still isn't as tight as my Swiftshadow.

If I had decided it looked cooler than my Swiftshadow.. I would have purchased it regardless of what speed it is. If I want speed, I can switch to a faster mount, if I want looks.... yeah you guessed it. Swiftshadow ftw!

So... tldr: Buy what you think looks nice, who cares how fast it is cause ya don't really need it anyway!

Problem is, people want things that are 1) Cool looking 2) Top Speed and 3) Cheap/not as expensive as the other ones.

I agree with Saitada, people need their priorities straight and unless you're in love with the mount that has everything you want, like good appearance, good cost and high speed, then you have to sacrifice a few things. The .2 speed, might not be noticeable, you will still catch people in PvP, and you will get to places fast...might be a .2m/s difference but you can live with it.

If you're looking at the dragonfly(which looks like a giant mosquito to me) for looks, get it. If you want for the speed, I'm sure theirs better options out there. If you want it just because its new, not a good reason to buy and you probably wont care if its .2m/s slower.

besides of all complains and the excellent post of Saitada that was really realistic, i wanted just to point something out.

there have been several releases in cash shop with insane prices, just look back a few days and we have a famous serpent....70 gold..really, ridiculous. now we get this, flying mounts for all races permanent, 3.2/6.2 m/s for every race except untamed with a flying mount for the same 50 gold but for 3/5 m/s. it doesn't matter if it had not been seen in the server, its values are just the same and lower than the 50 gold new flying mounts. we got two things here, one race without a normal and balanced new permanent 3.2/6.2 flying mount, and the tideborns 3.2/6.2 wings started for 30 gold.....and now went to 25 gold... i mean, do PWI admin's get drunk when they are gonna release something? cause its not only me but several ppl in the pwi community say PWI admin's are doing an awful work and forgetting about gamers.

Anyhow like Saitada said i dont really care a lot about 0.2 m/s more, at the end it wont matter and in pvp im pretty sure u wont find urself a lot in a situation where u start chasing someone and both go for hasted speed, and if u wanna go fast u would rather get a land mount, but if PWI is gonna do something, can they start doing it right? or is it just the dervs getting greedy?

My Mistake, I just double checked and your 100% correct. My Manta and Swiftshadow are 3/5 not 3/6.

God damn, people. Every other post or so, people are bringing up the same point.

Some of you aren't affected by it at all, since you're probably not planning to get it in the first place. You just want a reason to complain about.

Anyways, I'm fine with the 3 new permanent additions to the Boutique. I would never get the Dragonfly though, even if it were only 30 Gold. Looks like an overgrown Mosquito to me. Kinda nasty. x.x

that 0,2 make all the difference in pk tho..means u get to live or victim don't ... a while ago got 3 kylin archer, cleric and wizzy really mad couse i didn't let them get vol 30 and they chase me for like 15 min...in this time i was able to separate and kill wizy and cleric few times ...in the end they realise they not gonna get near me unless i want to and that means gonna die prolly b:laughb:chuckle ..

that's why i got razor sting even tho i hate looks instead drake that is awesome.. seriously untamed fly not so great look ...the blue eagle and drake are cool i like them but rest look like **** and are huge like a house taking visual sight...this is a very sad lack of imagination from designers

I think the Untamed Flying mounts are pretty neat, actually. It's just that there's a lot of pallete swapped ones for us, and they need to deviate from bugs. x.x

I don't really like the Drake or Dragonfly much though.

I think they should have an Armored Pterosaur as the next Aerogear... just my opinion.

from many of the large variety of flying fishes and wasp mount, I think the Swiftshadow would have to be the best aero-untamed mount there is.

umm... for those who pk/pvp mount speed is very important
and some people like cool looking and fast mounts
so dont just say you dont need speed
because a lot of ppl play for pk/pvp
even for regular stuff like farming mats/herbs speed is very important
farming mats/herbs faster=more coin

Looks like a majority of you were dissecting post by post and analyzing them like it was the cure for cancer or something.

Im happy with my maxed drake. I dont even own a land mount, because when I have my sage true form in 1 level, I wont need one lol.

And for the record, folks....Barbarians may have fast speed and high HP, but we can only turn into 4 different kinds of beasts. We lack customization, which is something that is extremely vain, but still nice to have like the rest of the races. Even veno's can customize their human forms more.

And trust me, Ive seen many other classes with insane HP. Dont yell at barbs because its the 'stereotypical' build. You want high HP too? You can get it no problem. Unlike Barbs who cant get the customization you have.

The point of this whole thread is this: inconsistent products keeping being pushed out as if people at PW are half assing things. Managers OBVIOUSLY arent doing their jobs properly by reviewing over other's work and making sure that they are doing their jobs properly. Yes, this may be a F2P game, but a majority of us 'QQ'ing (which btw, a term I see a lot of you overuse too much, even for a bunch of gaming no-lifers, its really pathetic) are the ones who are dishing out money so you can sit on your bum and play for free and rag on the 'QQ'ers all day on the forums and in game.

My point is this to the PW team : Get your &#%@! act together.

Yes but the OP was about the Dragonfly and the fact that its only 3.0 speed.

All the stuff is overpriced, even the charms. Nothing we get is tangible that we get to keep. So if you spend your money on this game you are spending it for something you will never own. Even if you have bought it, and its on your character right now PWI still OWNS it. Its just like the price of gold, if people want the company to give lower prices on things, QUIT buying overpriced stuff.

But in their defense, they have really tried to make a few things cheaper. Like when they permanently slashed the price of the older mounts. That was an awesome move on their part.

You actually can be 4 different things, just like the veno. An elf can only be an elf, no matter what. Human can only be human. I don't get to have a cute kitty tail and ears either.

Everyone can find some fault with their customization compared to what another class has. I don't particularly like the quills coming out of my head, but I learned to live with them b/c I like the class.

What would be awesome is if we could use any aerogear for any class. But thats another topic entirely...

On topic, I agree that the Dragonfly looks like a huge mosquito.. but some people might find it attractive and appealing.

People choose mounts for different reasons, personally.. I choose them for speed both on ground and air. I don't care what they look like or the cost. I go with the fastest cheapest mount with little to no regard what they look like! Everyone is different!

Exactly.

Honestly. None of you are being forced to BUY anything. PWE, no matter how bad its decisions seem to be, is not threatening to headshot you if you don't buy one of the new flyers. I don't think the price of gold has been affected that much either (though I've not checked today).

And if you're gonna QQ about "racial discrimination," why not QQ that flyers are race-specific while land mounts are not? Really. PW =/= IRL. Race DOES matter--but you had the choice to PICK your race.
