Flight duration

So im looking through wings in the auction house.
And (being a noob to pwi) im wondering...

what is the duration?
Ie: (450/900)

Whats the difference in (450/900) and (17/900).

And if i were to buy wings how would I raise/lower his duration?

    The duration only comes into play when you are accelerating. You lose 1 duration point per second of acceleration.

    You can replenish the duration using the same kinds of magic stones you feed a genie.
