    I didn't design the filter, pretty funny though IMO

    I can tell you that even in spite of the filter, we still get e-mails from concerned parents about the language used in-game.

    and if parents are THAT concerned, maybe they shouldn't let their kids play this game, and idk.. actually spent time with them? They'd rather throw the blame on internet companies when they sit there kids in front of the PC all day.

    (protip: don't misspell GAMEWINNERS, yea, I fell for that a few times.. gamewinners is a legit hint site, gamewinnrs (or something like that) links to **** sites...)

    and that's one thing I'd skirt the filter for, along with other legit, but filtered things. (haven't found a need to yet, we don't talk about rl that much in facion and such)

    Skirting the censor is illegal..... <looks around> although I am not sure the GMs would come down on you with a ban if you were to skirt the censor for pocketwatch..... or maybe they would, to make an example out of you and the dangers of skirting censors...... or would they?

    I know quite a few people that got their TB alts already banned...... For some reason it seems to happen around level 30...

    It's about circumventing the filter to say inappropriate things, it's better to have an overly cautious filter than nothing at all, but I've never heard of anyone being banned for a pocketwatch.

    Please note, that its not always children who are offended by some of the chat. I am a 30 year old woman and I don't appreciate some of the things I see in chat.

    And its really wrong of you to assume that because a child enjoys an MMO that their parents don't actually spend time with them.

    I'd also like to state, that just b/c the chat filters are in place people still try to go around them. I'd also like to remind you that this game is rated for ages 13 and up. I often see X rated chat in world chat. There is a difference in allowing your 15 year old to play an MMO that is supposed to be suitable for children 13 years and up and allowing them to enter into an x rated internet site.

    Thats like saying I left my 8 year old with a baby sitter who claimed they were good with children who in fact forgot she was even there and left to run an errand and left my child at home alone.

    I somehow quoted the wrong one, but I was just going to say in regards to your post that parents still send emails/tickets about the chat. If the chat filters weren't constantly went around, and x rated talk wasn't allowed in world chat then people would quit sending in emails.

    My children play this game, but I only allow them in factions I am in, I make them have world chat turned off and I don't allow them to squad with anyone I don't know very well. I take my own measures to try and ensure that my children don't see the xrated chats that go on, however; I can see where some people would be upset about the fact that no matter what, it seems nothing is taboo and even though it is clearly against the terms of service of this game; it continues to keep happening in the world chat.

    I just find it amazing what gets filtered, **** isn't fltered, but combine it with any other thing it gets filtered *shrugs* (which assassin, glad "****" isn't it'd come out ******in)

    was not even close to how I meant the comment, it came out wrong. I'm gettin annoyed of the drama in world chat too. and somone saying things that aren't filtered but VERY vugar.

    When that red flying chicken aerogear first came out, its name was censored..... Cocktail. They have since changed the name of the aerogear.

    It was funny as hell reading the WCs of people trying to sell one.... WTS: ****tail 10mil

    The censored result was even dubiou than the word it got censored...

    Well as the comment was general I understand what you mean. There are some parents likewise who rely on the school system to raise their children. I was just replying that not all parents are like that. And yes, some of the chat is very very vulgar. And I would almost bet around 80% of the time its often someone who is 18 or younger. Which is all the more reason for the GM's to come down hard on those who evade the chat filter and have x rated chats in world chat. For a long time I tried to screen shot and submit a ticket as they said thats the best way for them to know who was doing it. But 4 months later I see the same people saying the same vulgar stuff so I know that for whatever reason either they arent taking action OR their actions aren't strict enough to enforce it. Either way... 98% of the time I play with world chat off anymore, its sickening to watch most of the time.

    I think that it was called a Cockatrice if I remember correctly. Cocktail would have been an improvement tho :) LOL. But I remember that too.. was funny that they named something in their game something we couldn't even say!

    Let me quietly point out, I'm 22 years old, and I'm male. Been through the hole school thing, and yea, kids think it's cool to swear and bypass filters and such. (I used to do it in school when I had to.. damn BESS blocking my homework...) there's a few DW world chatters I'd love to see get the boot. specially one who starting picking a fight with my faction leader, and then later starting more **** in WC with others. But there's those I run into in world (but not in WC) that love to bypass the filters. if I'm the only one in range, I don't usually bother with it, but if something gets said in a crowded area, I'm usually screenshoting and reporting. there's not alot I haven't seen or heard, so I'm fairly nice. but When people start calling me a ho and start swearing at me for no apparent reason other than I'm there. yea, I send in reports..

    I used to play this game that one day they decide to filter out c u m but instead of c u m they filtered out come, and they didn't change to the correct filtering for couple months so every1 was forced to use c u m
