Snowmen, New Year etc.

"Official Announcements" doesn't seem to have ANY threads? :-(

So what are these for? It seems the Snowmen can be killed, although I haven't attacked them just yet (they are very red...). I have no clue what to do with all those items that players leave around either --- my guess is an F2P event where we'll have to collect 100000000000000 millions of those for a 0.000000000000001% chance to get something useful.
