So, what is the exact time of the server when compared with GMT? It started getting all confusing to me since they changed the timings of Lost City by adding it by 1 hour(on Nov 1st/something).

    It is GMT - 8

    I hate when people writes PST... it isn't standart, standart is GMT or UTC (UTC = GMT))

    It is standard here for PWE. The servers are PST and EST. Thats why its standard, duh.

    I thought RT was on the east coast? In that case it would be GMT-5.

    RT is GMT-5

    GMT -6 is CST.

    PST = GMT-8
    MST = GMT-7
    CST = GMT-6 (my time zone)
    EST = GMT-5

    How the hell is that the "worse system"? It describes what most Americans (general population of the servers) want to know. Why bother with GMT, when the "general" population of the game know PST/EST already. Also... the names of the time zone didnt originate from PWI. We did not make these names...

    For example, when you're in China trying to advertise a sale, you advertise the time in the default time/hour in the Chinese time zone. You dont use PST/GMT. Same thing applies here.

    it's US timezone stuff. personally I switch off between the two at random. (since they mean the same thing)

    and if you think that's bad try switching from metric to imperial units for a week or 2

    If one system is stupid, the best is not use it. I don't understand why americans can't learn the word GMT...

    Using GMT you can, with one word, known the time in all time zones. If one say, 14:00 GMT + 3 if I have, GMT + 1, I known that it is 14 - 2 = 12, easy.

    Using PST, MST, CS, EST, you need known equivalences of ALL words of the WORLD.

    Because of that, I never use imperial units... And remember, imperial and metric units have only 1 equivalence, PST, MST, CS, EST... have many many many many equivalences, you need to known all time zones of the world...

    anyway...

    PST = WEST servers = GMT -8
    EST = East servers = GMT -5

    keep those in mind and be done with it..

    The problem is not known equivalence of PST with GMT, the problem if the system. Imagine that all webs use PST, EST... for say its time and no GMT. You think it is normal? web from japan, one word, web from germany, another word, web from portugal, another word, web from india, another word, web from russia, many many words, web from EEUU, many many words... It is logical? no, please kill this system and use UTC (gmt), it make a better world.

    guess what, you deal with what the company running the site uses, it's that simple. stop complaning and live with it. Why should I learn a UK set of rules when:

    1: I live in the US
    2: I have never been and right now have no immedate plans to visit the UK
    3: The places I frequet are coordinated and run by US companies

    I don't have to go learn how to use UK grammar and no UK resident has to conform to my standards either. It's a mutual understanding between everyone. You want to use GMT feel free, but DON'T GO THINKING your system is so much BETTER than ours. It's not

    GMT may be an international standard, but we don't use it in the US as a major source of telling time, it's used for INTERNATIONAL THINGS and look, it's down there, shut it.

    I'm proud to be American, and since you don't read I HAVE learned UK standards from many friends, I didn't HAVE to, but I did as a way to keep in touch directly and nearly-perfectly with them. I, unlike you, have morals and self-standards, I don't make perople conform to me, I conform to what I've been handed. Since PWI is an American company you're going to have to live with that, and conform to their standards or get out.
