game is acting up

I've rarely had this problem and it's always fixed itself when I relogged, but after the expansion, the game has been freezing up so much that I can hardly play.

While playing the game, it will randomly freeze up. I can't move, use skills or items, and the music stops and makes a buzzing noise. When - if - it unfreezes, the game loads choppy for a few seconds then goes back to normal. Sometimes it just sits there frozen, so I have to force shut down my laptop. Or it unfreezes but doesn't go back to normal. Sometimes out of frustration, I will mash the W A S and D keys and then the games fixes itself but it seems to think I'm still holding down one of the keys even when I'm not touching the keyboard, and my character will keep walking or flying in that direction even if I press other keys. I got my character to stop moving a couple times by pressing enter. Another occasional thing is that the music changes (sometimes after the buzzing stops, or in the middle of a song... may or may not be related to freezing, but started at the same time). It gets drastically louder and a lot more bass, but the quality sounds like it was recorded on a cell phone. Relogging fixes this, however.

There isn't an interval of when this happens, and there doesn't seem to be any kind of trigger. While I find it most often happens when fighting (due to increase in activity, I suppose) it could also happen while doing nothing. Sometimes it happens when I'm surrounded by others, sometimes when I'm completely alone. Sometimes it lasts for a second, or up to 15 seconds, or for minutes. Nothing has changed on my laptop, nothing has changed with my internet connection... the same thing even happened when I took my laptop to my friend's house.

Oddly enough, it gets WORSE when I put the game in best performance. Each time I've switched to best performance, it seems to freeze up more often and more severely.

I've relogged, restarted the comp, checked my internet connection... I'm not sure what's up.
I dunno what kind of info you need about my comp... ask and I will get it.

It sounds like driver conflict or incompatibility with the new functions of the game or your system can't cope....or it could just be corrupted client files, particularly the dlls and whatnot.

First, do a verify (hit "Verify" on your launcher and give all the time it needs).

If that doesn't help, we'll need more info about your system first -

sounds like.....software failure?
hmm could be hardware but....hardware problems tend to crash your system not restart "normally" like that....although a dying video card does produce similar symptoms to what you has described.
