Is this happening to anyone else?

So after reading the forums a little, its clear that a lot of people are experiencing a lot of lag in the new area. But I have a problem that seems to be the next step:

Whenever I try to log in as one of my newly created Tideborn, the game screen goes black. I get occasional flickers of color, but the game has more or less crashed. I've tried logging in during the 'off' hours and once got to run around for about ten seconds before the game gave up on me.

The odd thing is, the game doesn't seem to be lagging much in the couple seconds that it still works; no worse than Archosaur. I've even managed to set the game to run on low settings... but invariably, the screen goes black and I'm forced to shut the game off manually.

Has this happened to anyone else? If so, do you know of a way to fix it? Help!

    Check the tech support section. It's happening to a lot of people. The problem seems to be the teleporter building for some reason. Try moving your camera away from the building, and it should work. You'll have to swim places, but at least you'll be able to play.

    Thanks, I actually noticed after a while that it seemed to be certain places that caused the problem; the teleporter building makes sense. I managed to get to the city, finally XP

    I'm having horrible lag on my TB, but I was able to stop the black screen flashing by using the fastest graphics settings (normally play with everything maxed out and almost zero lag in Arch, i blame the lag on the servers ;P), windowed mode with 1280x1024 res (normally full screen with 1680x1050 res), and turning off the 16:9 mode option. However, like I said, horrible lag, lag like I have NEVER experienced before, and I have to swim in the water to try to avoid freezing up, If i run on land it will freeze up just as often as it flashed black sreen.

    I had to manually turn down every graphic setting (not click best performance) and then set the game to windowed mode when that happened to me. Once you get out of the original encampment it works like a charm.

    I've heard of people talking about having this problem before, for now a remedy may be to play in windowed mode. Or so I've heard. I'm always in windowed mode due to processing power so I have never encountered this issue myself. Hopefully it's a quick fix that has to do with the game and isn't something to do with a graphics card on its death bed. >_>;;

    When Saukey decides she can swim, I know I didn't get the DC pop-up again. Wish she swam when it matters.
