hp powders and cleric buffs

Wow 6 pages of qq-ing and insults on a forum just cause 1 cleric overwrote your powder...

Some people in here really have to stop getting a high bloodpressure over small things.
Just whisper the cleric and tell them it overwrote, some may not know (as stated before) I didnt either, until i overwrote a friends powder at lvl 55 or so.

Basic thing in this thread, so cleric made a mistake, 6 pages of flaming isnt gonna give you your powder back. Everyone makes mistakes, the ones that say they dont normally make the most of em.

I'd advice: Smile some more instead of picking the negative points out of your day. Someone was trying to be nice to a random person, in a game where theres already too much people making the game or people in it feel bad by using way too much insults. I'd say im glad theres still people in here that are randomly nice to strangers.

And veno's already have a bad rep. Making it worse doesn't help.

Since when am I making it worse? That was merely against I_can_heal and her little fight where she stated that everyone 'NEEDS' her all the time, and dared people to do an FB without a cleric.

Truth is, yeah, venos need clerics a lot less than the rest of us. I was merely disproving her 'challenge' to go do the next FB without a cleric.

And yeah, I know not every veno has a herc. I don't on mine. And I can still solo more than most other classes.

Nothing I said was against clerics that don't have giant egos. It was all against the clerics that expect to be worshiped (not respected, worshiped) for their buffs/etc.

I_can_heal : congratulations on being one of the dumbest clerics I have ever seen during my entire time on this forum and playing PW.

Now then, I'm sitting on the fence when it comes to this issue. Firstly:

The HP/MP buff from clerics is not as good as the apoth powders.
I would never have known this if I had played a cleric first. But no, I played an archer - something terribly squishy. I learnt the values of apoth powders at an incredibly early level and I owe my life to those things on more than one occasion.
Also, these powders are not free. Every time you clerics overwrite my powder buff, you waste the time I spent collecting the herbs for that powder / the money I spent on buying it - and you also potentially cost me my life. That faster regen is unbelievably helpful from time to time. So, yes, you are potentially killing people every time you rebuff.

Please note, however, that I am not complaining when you give fly-by buffs. It seems to be a rarity nowadays (I was buffed 10x more as I played my archer than now when I play my sin) and I will thank you should you drop down and buff me.

All we ask is that you take one or two seconds to check if we already have buffs or not. You need to click on us anyway - the buffs will come up under our little bar at the top of your screen at the same time that bar comes up itself. Does it really hurt to actually check and see what buffs a player already has? Really?

So no, we aren't being ungrateful. Or at least, some of us aren't. All we are asking is for that little bit more consideration.

Ok then, I'm going to put this to bed right here, right now for people like I_can_heal. Whenever you see one (or both) of these: , don't use this: . That is all this thread is about. If you see neither of those icons under a person's name, buff away. Most people would be glad of it. But, if you do see them, just don't use that one buff. All the others are free to use though. Nobody here has said anything about not needing cleric buffs. Nobody has said anything about clerics not being useful in most situations. Nobody has said anything about clerics taking time out to buff others. It is, and should always have been, about the buffs. Nothing else.

When you see one of those two icons, especially when they are not accompanied by any other cleric buff, that means that player is enjoying +50 hp (or mp) regen. The cleric hp/mp regen buff would remove this, making it anywhere from +1 to +10. This is less, and therefore not as good.

Let me put it to you this way: Which would you rather have; a slight convenience for a day (one that is helpful, but can be gotten by without), or something that saves your life for a few hours (one that you need to survive for that time)? Personally, I'd rather have the latter. That would be the Life Powder. The former is the cleric buff. If you still feel the need to argue, fine, but keep in mind not everyone is in the same situation as you, and not everyone thinks as you do.

My buffs are on macro. So if I think that this player might be using pills, then I just don't buff random player.
And if a cleric overwrites your pills - tell it to him/her. A lot of clerics just don't know that our weak buff overwrites good pills' buffs.
And regarding buffing in squads while somebody is popping a pill - I am not a mind reader. If you are using a pill - tell it and remind if needed.
