i have the asus g60vx. It's running windows 7 x64 home premium. Since my threads keep magically going away and i keep getting random errors. I'll sum it up here.

FPS is ~5-10 in the starter area for some odd reason. I normally get 60+ in every game i've ever played so this makes no sense. Also i tried changing affinity to 1 core and it did nothing.

    That's the laptop i have. i doubt it's an issue with it. Do you know much about computers? If you don't then i don't really want to sound like an **** but i doubt your information is relevant.

    well you won't be getting any input from me in this thread from now.

    also it be understandable and pretty good since it be a laptop but still 2.13 Ghz is rather weak when compared to a desktop.
    also DDR2 be just fine so you do have enough computer power.

    what? look at how you were talking. You were talking childish. How else am i supposed to think? And the gpu's where its at in most games and they only say a 1.5Ghz single core gpu. I know my cpu's not that great but that's b/c of my father not listening to me. Sometime soon i'm going to get my 2.66Ghz dual core. And it's definately not a desktop it's a laptop. :/ And ok. It's just you have to remember how to speak conciesly and not like you're 5.

    I get a pretty good fps rate at maximum quality.
    However, I am pretty sure it has nothing to do with your computer itself.

    Im pretty sure the problem lies with the sheer number of people starting up a new tideborn character, and in your case as well, a brand new server. When I tried the new tideborn, so was everyone else, it was PACKED(100+ ppl in just one area).

    It's most likely a server delay, as the server has to recieve and send out info to all the players in that area, and thats alot of data. In short, LAG. Massive, massive LAG is your problem.

    glad to knwo it was server lag, i wasn't sure if it was the client's coding be ****ed up. Oh well i guess i'm going to attempt to run as fast as i can through 1-20.

    only this game? And only now? I have a 30ms ping to the speedtest servers. And when i login, i have ~100ms ping(pretty bad but it is a new server so it's going to be crowded). So my net's not the only one who's having issues. Look at that 11 page thread in here about graphical glitches. It's the coders tehy've managed to cripple their game. All games have an expansion pack which completely breaks the game and it seems that chinese devs have finally hit theirs and its name is tideborne.

    My computer is ****... but the tideborn area's aren't that bad as of now =P I think their was one little area where it was terrible, but other than that all is well in the world =P

    You think i had a choice in this? I don't have 1k laying around and my father said either the asus or nothing. I chose the asus. Also i doubt it's the pc.     You sir are obviously oblivious as to how programming's done. I know my asus is of poor quality i've had no choice in this matter i'm on the 3rd one. The piont is is nothing else is behaving as bad as it's this game. PLain and simple if it's one mmo and NO OTHERS then it's the one that's not working right.

    I,sir, code for a living. The reason pw is different is because borderland doesnt have hundreds of characters clustered up in the same spot, thats why people with better computers dont have this issue, MagicHamsta for example

    This could be a number of things, probably all of them working together against you.
    • Its a laptop: Dunno how most people can stand playing games on laptops, but for most online games, laptops just dont have the nessicary power to play them as well as desktops.
    • Another thing is your processor. Game calls for a pent 4 or better, And while your chip is newer. It doesnt offer the same capabilities as the pent4, actually is missing two key ones: Multi-threading, and L3 cache. Multi-threading is most likely another problem since it governs the ability to run multiple applications. and I know for a fact that window's 7 ALWAYS has something else running -_-, Its just a copy of vista with even less security after all.
    • The 2.1 shouldnt pose a problem, as shouldnt your Ram and VRam. Both are good enough to play this game, however, Gotta take into the account that since there is alot more people in that area atm it will lag some because of that, PLUS the tideborn city has ALOT more animation then the rest of the world does. b:victory that flying fortress above the city is proof enough but you also have all of those fountains, and orbs of light scattered everywhere, VERY COOL, but it does pose a problem for weaker computers.
    • Last problem would obviously be your connection, Obviously depends on your connection speed, If your going through wireless, there will be lag, always, for any game. Not saying its to the point where it takes minutes to walk a few feet but it'd be there.

    Do you guys realize you are talking about a laptop with Core 2 Duo and a freakin GTX260 ? How can you say the laptop is weak? You guys clearily don't know sh*t about computers plus we are talking here about Perfect Word and not Crysis or other monster games.
    And if a Core 2 Duo is bad at multi-threading and if windows 7 is a just a copy of vista with even less security you are totally wrong !!!! WTF?!! Where do you live? In north pole?

    For your information, I happen to know a great deal about computer software, as well as hardware. What I think your problem is, besides wanting to rant about something you dont know, is that you looked up Quad processors instead of DUO. Its not that the core2 DUO is merely bad at multi-threading its that it DOESNT have that ability AT ALL.

    The only thing supporting windows 7 on that laptop is that what it does have is a L2cache as opposed to an L3cache. L3 caches handle larger data better, where as l2cache is faster at running the data. As a server based game, It sends large amounts of data to the computer. So while the L2 is quicker at reading it and such, Having the space to actually handle it would be better.

    As for the graphics card, WTFC's about that? sure its nice, but without the computing power behind it, its a waste to even be in there.

    And windows 7 IS just a copy of vista, and it has ALOT of security problems, Much like vista had when it first came out. I've known around 10 people personally who have switched to 7 and all had their computers crash rather quickly, and while yes, some may be contributed to thier lack of knowledge. Some of them are quite adept with a computer, as am I.

    As for it being perfect world, yea... PW has some of the best graphics out there when compared to other F2P games, And if you actually looked at the requirement, Crysis isnt a 'monster game' it has some of the same requirement that PW has.
