Is it just me, or is Tideborn Epic Win?

This may just be a fluke, so I'm curious if others are experiencing the same things so far:

1) The game has been running all-day without any crashes.
2) The game doesn't crash when alt-tabbing to/from fullscreen.
3) The game no longer gets progressively boggier as you play, gobbling up memory and gradually becoming a slide-show until you are forced to log in/out.

Perhaps I'm just lucky so far?b:question

Because if these 3 points are actually fixed, then this is the best patch ever. Period.

Lag is certainly to be expected. But even with the lag there's been no crashes, and the game seems speedier and more stable.

In fact, I even just tried running the Dungeon Race without turning on "Max Performace" mode first. I ended up setting a personal best time of exactly 4:59, completing the race 1 second before the entry time closed.

I only got lagged out a few times...and considering I logged in and was literally swimming through people this morning that's something to be happy about. I'm not to sure I should be happy that my graphics driver was the thing that crashed....considering it's brand new as of yesterday >.>

Awesome art. Great skill sets, a tad OP'd but that's needed since these races seem to hate Vit. b:chuckle A few issues, but in a release this big there are always going to be bugs and issues. Overall they did a good job. I just wish I could have used my Sin's supply chest daggers at level 5 like my Wis and BM could. >.<

Oddly, the game has always run pretty stable on my junky laptop. Slow, but stable. It seemed to really hate my girlfriend's new computer most of all, crashing every hour or so, but so far she's been playing all day (instead of sleeping, eating, etc...).

Even more surprising, the auto-patcher is working...and working well. I had to uninstall/reinstall the client, thanks to Webroot being brain-damaged, and it seems to be at around 20% patched in 20 minutes. And this is from my original download for the installer, so I'm looking at version 37. 20% took me nearly an hour and a half last time. Patcher upgrades are awesome...now I wanna go and actually play the game. T-T

Well...I'm slow and lazy...not to mention I just hit 71, so no gammas for me yet.

Also, if you want the faction, it still exists. I've just got an alt keeping it...I'll really give it to whoever.

But yeah...tideborn sounds like win. At least for now.

so far, from what i've seen, its a fail of epic proportions:

the TB islands are so dark that its necessary to turn up the gamma to just see the mobs.

with no normal light, as in the rest of the game, plus the bug, its not possible to create a toon that will look like anything other than a livid corpse.

i've been all over the map today, with my cleric and veno, and no where did i see the usual beautiful clear blue skies. instead, it was overcast, with greenish cast to them, that in the Midwest means you better watch out for tornados! whose idea of a 'perfect world" includes constant gloomy overcast skies??

this gloom even extends to the character selection screen....

    2e0r6es.jpg

please tell me this isnt going to be permanent? someone?

b:surrender Well as far as storyline comes into play the gloominess is to be expected as the barrier from the hugest storm area in all of PW just started to disperse after thousands of years of building up. But yah its probably just a side effect when it comes to the character creation but I have not noticed any difference in arch. Its just a bit off tbh the Female clerics look like they have veno symbols.

Lucky for you. Many of my guildmates have been suffering from random disconnect.
    2) The game doesn't crash when alt-tabbing to/from fullscreen.
It still does crash when i alt-tab most of the time.
    3) The game no longer gets progressively boggier as you play, gobbling up memory and gradually becoming a slide-show until you are forced to log in/out.
The game client is still suffering from memory leak.
Perhaps I'm just lucky so far?

Only diference im noticing is a little less lag, but then again half the game pop is at tideborn area (which i have yet to see ^^).

    About game issues...
    - Crashes? Check!
    - Dcs? Personally i had none, but cant say the same about guildmates and ppl i squad with. So, check!
    - Game is more unbalanced than ever? Check!
    - PWE failed to fix any old bug and got more in? Double check!!

The only interesting thing that this expansion gave was the 16 slot account vault, and its gonna take a while for people to get it since its 15 gold and PWE is still forcing the gold up any way they can. The game remained the same (aside from 2 new classes) and still no events to be seen.

On a side note, who else thinks PWE designers failed miserably when making the tideborn area with 3 new round islands with the same size? I started laughing when i first saw them. I mean, they could've just asked a 5 year old to draw it and it would be far better than what the devs came up with.

Patience everyone... i was really surprised that whole server did not explode when suddenly perhaps 80% server population pop up in Tideborn.

I admit that even for my rather strong comp moving through starter areas was a challenge but farther north situation have improved.

To complain part i must point that right now chest on ship mast <missing Home - quest> quest is extremaly hard to do because of rubberband glitch and of course lag factor.
But i think in time when current population of tideborns finaly move to main land this will improve.

After spending half day there i must say that in my personal rating scale Tideborn recived 6/10 but if devs will manage to balanced lag and rubberband glitch issue <as major bugs in my field of concern> and of course in nearest future add more costomization options for Tideborns <i noticed that makeup options (no eyebrown shadows or lips color for example) are non avilable at this time> this rating will be elevated further up.

And for raising here unbalanced game issues... in what way adding another race unbalanced game?
I did not noticed that mobs in continetal areas get nerfed... on the contrary, continental mobs are still very strong.
Tideborn skills... maybe, but in case of assasins problem is that thier skills are focusing on daggers <of course i can use other mele weapons but i can forget my extra damage skills - same as i will try use bow as BM... possible but without archer skills is pointless> and honestly daggers itself will never reach damage level of swords and that is why assasins skills must boos this lack of raw damage power.

    To conclude.
Core of expansion is ON and now all we need is steady polishing this expansion and in time Raging Tide become as same common area as Plume or Etherblade so once again i ask fro patience b:thanks

Loving the new area +1 to the devs.

Seems the hair bug has moved to my wings now on archer (now you see them, now you dont, now you see them, now you dont).

Overall a LOT better then i thought it would be so big up to the devs and others who worked on this patch and all its contents. b:pleased

I must be one of the lucky ones. Crusing around the new area lagged a little bit like I was in West Arch, but other than that the game has run flawlessly and even better than before. Took me a min to use the icons without hesitating after forgetting the interface has changed but I like it a lot. City of the Plume is ecstatically goregous.

Since yesterday was only day one, things can only get better. Just give it time.

Eh, client lag happened since people with average or worse graphics card are going to go through hell when there's such an enormous population influx, especially all in the same areas of two/three small islands. There's some notable bugs I've come across and whether or not I will ever spend another dollar on this game is dependent on how they handle it. That being said, so far my Psychic is pretty damn strong, pretty squishy, and I'm not going to actually decide whether or not it's overpowered until I get into squad-involved scenarios like BH's, which may take a few weeks since I have a handful of characters who have greater priority in leveling than my Psychic.

As for crashes that weren't present before (resizing window in windowed mode has been the only crashes I've had for weeks), I don't see any consistency in that so I question the validity of this being PWI's fault any more than the machine running the game or the user's connection playing it. *shrugs*
