new iron?

im starting to see alot of this new iron stuff but im not able to mine it likeif i get near it it tell me the name but when i scroll over it the pickaxe sign dosn't come on that says i can mine it. what is this stuff? and how do i get it.

    Do you mean the Phoenix something Iron, that's reddish and near the Nightfire Altar? That's a quest item, like the Black Ore near Archosaur.
