proper way to log out?

i was playing the game and thought i would get off before the update...well that didnt happen as wanted it to (had to reset computer lol but not only due to game reasons). but as i notice that i click the exit button on the upper right hand corner...but then i get an icon on the start bar (where the start button is on your lower part of the screen and has all those options and such). well it has an icon down there. and i try to right click it...nothing happened...so i clicked on it with a left click and the game came back up...so i was wondering how do i log out properly from the game

    click on tool at the bottom right hand corner to extent and there will be an X to log out of.
