For an attack pet go with a wolf that comes with the -mag def buff in my opinion.

Lunar Lupin with L5 Howl ^^

If you want a high mag def pet to play with, consider the Carapest Terror.

Humm. Treefrog is harder to get, which is worth factoring in.

But a magic tank, even for a short time, can be useful. FB59 is almost exclusively magic-using monsters, and they come in groups of 2-4, including wandering groups, which means that you're likely to be unable to bring them all to melee range, so some are almost certain to cast.

Admittedly, you can slow down and lure more, but mistakes happen.

What I'm trying to say, in a long winded way, is that the golem isn't a great choice in there.

Unfortunately, neither are the other pets you suggest. Whilst the antelope has a great magic defence it has a hide made out of tissue paper and it will die way too often against physical damage. The treefrog is I understand a bit better, but it can't hold aggro worth a damn.

The lupin does decent damage and has an interesting debuff, but is also fragile. I actually found a lower-level wolf I'd levelled up to be more useful (though of course that lacks the buff)

I don't think that there IS a right answer here. (Well, there is, but it's 70m+)

You can also do interesting things with a ranged pet. Maybe try one of those?
