I decided to make this a thread to get opinions on the song me and my friends created for the PWI Anime ((Fanfiction FTW!)). This isn't suppose to be the theme song, but it can go with the despair parts in the anime. Who knows, maybe we can get the first episode by March? Late Feb.? The coming out date is still unofficial.

Anyhow, this is just to test.

    I like it^^. it has that scary sad feeling kinda theme going on. Can't really say much of anything else. I know I can't make music for anything unless you count stepb:surrender

    I guess it's a good start.
    IMO though, kinda... static. Your sticking with one key, not much of a chord progression(if any). Do a bit more editing to make it sound so... .midi file like lol, sounds like you only used an electric piano.
    But yeah, keep working on it, make it more dynamic, make it feel like its building up to something, and im sure it'll turn out fine ^^

    My suggestions:

    It's a little too repetitive - try either phasing out some instruments at certain points, or experiment with changing tempos and degrees of loudness. Also, some breakages between measures were a little too unnatural - might want to make those smoother.
    A lot of good songs change in mood.

    It's a good start though.

    Kinda...halting. Not bad, but I'm assuming you recorded on a single track instead of mixing together multiple tracks? There's points where it kinda suffers as you could set a background loop to keep a main theme while experementing around with different ideas.

    Suggestions:

    1)Add a slight bit more variety in the instrumentation. Your piano idea works well, but there are too many mid to high tones going on. A bit more bass (Bass, Cello, any low brass instrument) would work quite well
    2)Try to have something that stands out. You've got a good base idea for things to work off of, but without a solo or melody, all I can really think of this as is an intro to something else.
    3)Percussion. Might be hard to balance at first, but a little bit of percussion will add to the overall tone. Even if you just use a bass drum at certain bars to emphasize the 1st beat, the strength of that will carry over into the rest.

    Very good start. I'll be looking forward to later versions.
